Braves can honestly just change the name from the Atlanta Braves to the Atlanta Brave* and just drop all Native American iconography and the problem will be solved. I already know it’s gonna be some people up in arms about it but they will get over it, if not oh well
Which is why I said the name only needs to be altered not really changed. But fine keep the name as long as all Native American iconography get dropped. No more chop no more tomahawks etc.The name may not be overtly derogatory but it and the Native American iconography has given people an excuse to act derogatorily. It’s tasteless no matter how you spin it talking about oh we honoring them it’s about bravery it’s the Braves. At the end of the day you seeing a ball park full of white people doing a tomahawk chop singing a bastardized version of a Native American chant a group of people who where killed marginalized and had their land stolen from them. There’s nothing honorably or respectful in that.Isn't bravery a good thing? What's the problem with the name as it is;
attributing a positive quality to a group of people.
Some laugh when the Yankees or Fighting Irish get brought up but
The Braves isn't even derogatory like those examples.
You mean Giants/Padres.Dodgers/padres wild card game gonna be crazy
