What I find more disrespectful is it seems like he’s trying to speak “on behalf” of MLB fans and perpetuate the false narrative that baseball fans are racist and ****. That somehow, it’s bad for the MLB to have Ohtani as a front face because he needs an interpreter to articulate perfectly in English on occasion, and therefore the fans of this sport won’t care for him.

If anything, Ohtani being the front face is GOOD for baseball because it helps dispel the negative connotations towards baseball and its fans, showing that diversity is great and that the fans embrace it.
