2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

It’s a maga hang out spot now.? I def got that vibe when I went to a game there. . Wow you were able to move up?

Yeah. Lower level they let me and others rock. Of course anything near the dugout they gonna stop you.

but yes bro, it def felt like a maga party. They don’t even enforce mask or ask if you were vaccinated at the gates.

were they friendly?

I was at the yard this week and the majority of fans i chopped it up with do not like this current Yankees roster.

Seems like it's just too much power and not enough raw hitting. Outside of DJLM they really don't have enough hitters that can slap it around the park. Stanton is signed through 2028 at 38 years old. That's wild. I would dump that, split him and Judge up if possible and get some hitters.

balls deff seem to be flying at a much higher rate currently

seeing some high scoring offenses

Nope. And got dirty looks for that too.

Back in the day I kept my hat on for the anthem, not even thinking anything of it and this geezer tried to reach down and physically remove my hat and ended up falling over the seat when I slipped the grab

These people actually get that offended by what you're wearing or doing during a song. Amazing.

This is classic  I've said this before, but it does always amaze me at what people get offended by when it comes to "their country."

You're going to have a heart attack for someone wearing a hat during the anthem, or a player kneeling. Yet Mr. America doesn't say a word when his pro sports team takes his own tax dollars to build stadiums for their pockets, or that same team strips historic stadium names (Veteran's Stadium, RFK stadium, etc) to put more sponsor money in their pockets, or you don't say a word when the NFL gets caught taking money from the military for their military halftime shows they lied about, and you don't say a word that billionaire owners spend their entire lives dodging taxes and getting handouts (aka socialism!). It's the Fox News effect. I get only angry based on what church of Fox tells me.

Red Sox in a salary dump year with the best record in the league. Crazy. Wonder if they can keep this up.

before szn started did you expect them to be this good? It seems like they werent projected nowhere to be where they are currently

i actually watch the games pivetta pitches its always funny to me how players evolve and get better once they leave philly, almost always

JD is honestly insane hes a monster at the plate

Is their an MLB version of espn’s nba trade machine? Im trying to make some things happen.

Nope I didn't expect it at all TBH. I don't think anyone did. Was suppose to be a salary dump, beef up the farm type of abbreviated rebuild. I think they were projected to be 3rd place in the division at best.

They have a solid line up but their rotation on the surface looked awful with Eovaldi as the #1. And their bullpen was among the worst last year with the only real offseason acquisition being Ottavino. Now their BP is some how among the best if not the best.

Now they actually might be buyers at the deadline to try and make a run. Weird. Reminds me of the 2012 year after they dumped Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, and Josh Beckett then got better and won it all the next.
