Had Pete Rose admitted to gambling on games when he got caught in 1989, instead of waiting 15 years (and writing a book about it), he would've been reinstated in the early 90s and voted into the Hall of Fame.

kinda crazy the dbacks led the league in scoring but not making the playoffs... and ohtani and judge both missed the triple crown because of the batting average

BTW, reading the P Rose obits yesterday and this simple passage was my favorite:

Heading into the 1975 season, Reds manager Sparky Anderson wanted to permanently move Rose from the outfield to third base - something Rose refused to do when asked earlier in his career. Anderson, knowing how Rose would react, instead asked him if he would do it simply for the good of the team. Rose immediately agreed.

Cincinnati went on to win the next two World Series.

Team broadcasters aren’t allowed to call their teams’ postseason games. But they might get tapped by the big networks to call other games.
