I’m thinking he doesn’t get bought out as the nets can package him with another bad contract and salary dump. They could potentially take Westbrook contract and whatever picks the Lakers give up. The Nets should probably trade him bc at least that gives them an opportunity to dictate where he goes for one year. Kyrie is a far better player than Westbrook so if you are gonna buy out and let somebody go wherever they want it should be Westbrook.
Kyrie could legit wait until after the trade deadline in March and sign with a team and still be playoff eligible. That’s too dangerous and I would almost absolutely expect Kyrie to do this.
