If a team wants to give the 49ers something similar to what the Texans got for Deshaun Watson. By all means they should do that. If the Jets want to give up their 2 first round picks this season and next years first. By all means do that.
But if something like that isn’t obtainable. You take advantage of having a top talent under team control for 2 more seasons and get all the production you can out of them and let them go wherever they want once they hit free agency.
He’s on a rookie deal. He hasn’t gotten that big contract yet, so it would be dumb as hell for him to act up and be disruptive. If he were to half *** it on the field, he hasn’t gotten paid yet so all that’s doing is messing with his future earnings.

Get Lamar a real weapon not that bum that calls himself Hollywood.
He can reduce his workload as far as running the ball because the Ravens already have a GOODT! running attack with Dobbins, Edwards and of course Lamar.

Hence the if something like that is not obtainable part.
And yeah that’s an unrealistic trade expectation, I know that. But from the 49ers end of things. There’s no reason to trade him unless a team overpays.

it’s not nowhere near the Buffalo Bills, but i cant help but reminisce like them Bills teams - the Niners have had squads between the Harbaugh and Shanahan era’s and have been so damn close to winning it all a few times.

I think if the Niners were to get 1 top 10 pick, they should count their blessings. If they can get a mid to late 1st then a second or third should also be attached. Perhaps they can get two late 1st rounders.

Watson should be higher but I guess the long absence brings him down a bit.
He was top 5 last time he was playing.
Also Mahomes is still the class of the AFC although Allen's probably right under. Feels weird having Joey and Herbo already ahead of Russ too

In that case, it makes no sense to trade him. I’ll take proven talent over picks any day of the week.
Hell I think of the the Revis trade to Tampa. I know he either wanted to get paid again or wanted out after the 2012 season (he got paid in 2010 but was unhappy with his deal). But the Jets traded him and got a first round pick. They used that to draft the great Dee Milliner. Same with the Vikings using their first round pick to draft Troy Williamson when they traded Randy Moss.
Hell the Raiders got all those first rounders in the Mack/Cooper trades and Ruggs and Arnette ended up being a disaster. Makes more sense to just keep him if the potential return is underwhelming.
