2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

what's your definition of a super star? In my vocabulary, there's only like 5-6 superstars. PG has never been a superstar. But some were fooled he was because he looked "nice" out there and had some nice dunks.
He avg 28 a game before coming to the clippers..pg is more than a role player..Kris middleton & bradley beal are role players..pg walks circle around them

Lol y'all kill me on here so now pg isn't a superstar he's a role player

Being a role player isn't a bad thing. PG's issue is that he talks about his role as being a bigger one than he's capable of fulfilling. There's maybe 5-7 superstars in the league and he isn't one of them.

He's a second-tier player who isn't worthy of the supermax. He is a star, borderline all NBA player but this type of money should be reserved for only top 10 players IMO. This contract is going to look awful in a couple of years but the Clippers had no choice

aint nobody saying he's a role player. You're trying to get that to fit your narrative.

Middleton is more than a role player though. But if you think he is, then I guess I see why you have PG as a superstar.

Lou Williams is a role player.

TBH, that happens more often than not with th max contracts given out in the NBA. Guys who have accomplished a lot less than PG have gotten max extensions. It says more about the system than the players.

And if it came out that the Clippers offered PG something less than a max deal and he turned it down, people on here and Twitter would be like, “oh, Clippers getting cheap again. Serves them right. LOL.”

Hes The black Gordon Hayward. Once you understand that, it’ll color your perspective and put things into its proper context. Middleton and PG, aren’t THAT far away from each other either.

You should not make it easier for teams to waste the primes of superstars.

Calvin Johnson up & retired because his team was so trash and there wasn’t a way out.

One of the most gifted athletes we’ve ever seen in any sport, decided to quit at just 30 years old.

Or even worse, they end up like Garnett and play for 20 years but only really mattered for 3 of those even though they were a top 5 guy.

**** that

Clippers will never win until, well, they win.

Its the facts we live with.

That’s fair but let’s not act like PG has this resume of being good in the playoffs
I mean, the previous year, he was pretty damn good.

But he's no more than a 22-24 point per game playoff scorer. In these times, it gets you the max, fair or unfair.

Last year around this time he was arguably considered a top 10 player so which one is he scottie pippen or Larry hughes

Negative.

lou is a SCORER.

big difference between scorer and a role player

Ehhh, You're arguing semantics. Scoring is a role. Lou doesn't create for others, doesn't rebound well, and he doesn't play defense. He's just an instant offense guy. He's no different than a player who can only grab rebounds but can't score
