2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

this injury recovery talk shows who's never played sports at a high level and dealt with any type of injury minor or major to get back to that same level. being expected to have a full recovery doesn't mean they're going to fully recover or ever be the same player they were before. there's a huge mental aspect of having to come back from injury that some guys never can get over and will stop them from getting back to the level they were at prior to it. they'll be healthy most likely in terms of being a normal human being, but playing the sport again isn't a given just because it's expected. that's a ridiculous statement and if you've ever had any type of injury (even an ankle sprain with moderate/severe ligament damage) you would know that.

Random.

why is Jared Sullijger not on an nba roster? Dude was pretty solid until his back and foot ended his season in consecutive years.

is it because he’s a tweeter? A victim of this new age basketball (that’ll hopefully will revert back to the old ways soon)?

The other side of the anti-Bud approach. Spo only ran 7 dudes, Jimmy 47 mins, & Miami looked like they needed another day off

Similar to how the Raps got smoked in G5 against the C’s.

Depth still important in the playoffs for that reason.

Spo should’ve tried harder to get Kelly some mins in that one.

It's obviously not ideal to only place seven guys but what do you expect? They were missing Dragic. It's the freaking finals, not a regular season game in January. Everyone ups their players minutes except for Bud. LeBron was routinely averaging 44+ mins in big games in Cleveland and Miami.

The crazy part about Bud is that he's not even willing to try. It would be one thing if he tried to play Gianna's heavy minutes and he was tired or got in foul trouble. We've literally never even seen it lol. She's not even willing to try as his team is getting smoked and on the verge of going home.

Yeah that's more of a lack of actual creators with Dragic out than anything else though.

If Jimmy doesn't play those minutes, they don't win, unless Herro or Crowder go off from 3 along with what they got from Robinson.

The iron knees of that video is that gilbert was an analytics darling with his style of play. Bledsoe is still handicapping teams because he can’t shoot. TJ Warren is going to get his regardless. He’s not of the norm.

analytics isn’t just limited to GSW and the rockets taking it to the very extreme. You can’t win a title without shooting.

Right, you obviously don’t play 10 dudes for the hell of it  He had no choice for the obvious reasons, better luck next year

Kendrick None being somewhat useful for a series would've been helpful.

Jimmy has always been able to handle big minutes, but not big minutes with THAT kind of responsibility.

And not to mention Tyler finally started playing like a rookie at the most inconvenient time

None  That was a huge loss even when Dragic was healthy. Hopefully no sophomore slump for him next year.
They're fun to watch when everyone is healthy and things are clicking. Offseason is going to be interesting though. Dragic, Crowder, and Derick Jones are all FAs. I assume they'll let Myers Leonard and Solomon Hill walk. Kelly O probably picks up his option. None and Robinson will both be UFAs the following offseason too.

The thing that hurt him was the fact that his role changed when Dragic got hurt. He went from a "nice to have" against Boston to "we need production from you every game" against the LA. The Lakers had a chance to look at Tyler's tape and pick him apart. Also, the Lakers have the best rim protecting big man in the league and you could tell that Tyler was shook at times

They'd be stupid to let Meyers Leonard go. He is the heart and soul of their team and he's a conservative.

Out of shape, too slow to play PF, not defensive minded enough/short to play C

Thank you. Was looking at some OSU highlights from his tenure there.

In more relevant news, I’m interested to see how the Warriors bounce back from a down season. I took glee in watching the L’s pile up, but now they’re a team that I low key am rooting for to see the lakers in the west finals.

Definitely air-balled a few of those cautious floaters he threw up when he was able to get into the paint and saw AD coming:lol:
