Yeah ima prob buy some 2019’s soon. They did those perfect. I don’t want a leather version. And I’m not a fan of the OG super high tongue. Makes them impossible for myself to wear with shorts

The OG tall tongue was THE feature that stood out so much (with the pull on holes in it). It's why I haven't bought a new pair of VIs in many years as it's my #1 favorite in the line but no OG tall tongue, not interested.

Last time I checked, I wore them just fine in 1991 and 1992 when I had my 2 pairs of black/infrareds in 8th and 9th grade. Didn't have a problem with it then and wouldn't have a problem now.

Sounds like only you would have an issue with these, being you are worried about what others would think about your choice of footwear if these had the OG tall tongue (thinking people would see you as looking "goofy").

I'm at that age where I just DGAF what people think about what I'm wearing anymore, I really don't. I'll wear what I want to wear and to hell with what others say. Hell you want to talk about a tall shoe, retro Air Pressures! These are ridiculously tall. I'll still wear them proudly with shorts in the summer. Someone wants to say something, then they have their own insecurities if they have to bother with a stranger over some tall "goofy* shoes.

I usually lean to how OG's originally were.....but I don't want anything to do with extra tall tongues on my kicks.

Seriously? All the complaining by many when they don't get the retros right (shape, materials, design) compared to the OGs, but now people will let this slide, a MAJOR design aspect of the shoe? GMAB! Pick a side.

To each is own! To me, seeing the tall tongue was so different from ANYTHING back in 1991. I was the only kid in my entire Jr High (7th through 9th) to have the VIs, and it was freaking fun having something NO ONE else had. And a lot of the talk was about the tongue.
