When Bron and the heat killed Rose and the bulls, a Bulls fan kept lying, saying his momrecently died to keep people from roasting him and the bulls.

Do people fault Iverson for not being able to beat a significantly better Lakers team in the Finals?

No they don't. But he only went one time. It's different when the 'context' in this day when said player is almost exclusively praised and elevated for just getting to the Finals. Yet somehow the outcome doesn’t matter. Context is mostly lost when he wins, why not when he loses and loses at this Wilt/Jerry-esque clip?

Mans will have 6 Finals losses, only a buffoon will think that's not going to be a knock on his legacy and nothing they say about basketball should be taken seriously. As many Finals losses as MJ has chips and still GOAT status? Even more laughable and ridiculous than the convo is now.

If that's the case, wouldn't LeBron's story begin with '3x Champion'?
no .people always remember wilt and Jerry for losing so many titles.

LeBron is basically Peyton manning .all the stats and accolades but Brady and a few others are considered better.
Kobe is Brett favre.

You talk basketball with 75 year olds?

It’s not about “fault” it’s about what praise you have earned. Iverson isn’t considered a top 25 player.

Because that looks foolish when trying to elevate him to GOAT status, the ESPNing and their ilk have specifically been stressing him getting there even coming up with actual imaginary chip stats (championship added stat) to try and make the arguments for him. He's the Wilt Chamberlain of this era, while great, ain't near GOAT status.

Wilt is remembered as one of the most dominant bigs of all time. West is the damn logo.

I've never heard anyone say 'Wilt was great but those 4 Finals losses...'

Not really these are the narratives that happen in real time. It happened last season 2 before the finals and that was with Kyrie. I can't imagine what the narrative will be if he once again overcomes all odds and beats this juggernaut Boston team without their 2 best players. He may get another imaginary ring just for that.

didn't take long this morning for Clown nation to stroll around with the chests puffed out

i can't blame them...a 41 point beat down is a sonning. but don't go ghost when things go sour. all i ask
keep that same energy.

It's like when athletes front run. They winning and they talking that talk. Then when they losing they act like they don't care about the game . like foh

And one of the 1st things that's brought up with Jerry West is the 8 Finals losses he has even though he's a NBA champion. It's why he's not on almost any top 10 lists despite all the numbers he put up.

Who exactly has given LeBron any "imaginary rings?" That's y'all narrative.
