We usually beat up on Verlander. I like our chances tomorrow.
Joe needs to get in an umps ***. He knows Judge is a nice young guy so Joe needs to fight for him about that low out of the strike zone BS
Happy to see Bird tee off on that ****** Giles. He’s trash, **** him.
Bird getting thrown out hurt. That was the inning. That’s at least one run and we had Dallas on the ropes. That could have been a few runs.

I know we're still in it, but I finally read the article about Cashman saying we will get under the luxury tax in 2018...

That means Yankees will only have a maximum of $55mil to spend for the season on Free Agency (that is to stay under the luxury tax, and they will likely give themselves $5-10mil in space so they can make trades come the deadline).. So that puts them at $50mil.
The money is likely going to Tanaka, CC & Otani if he comes over.
Tanaka $22mil if he doesn't opt out / $24mil a year if he does
CC 2 year deal worth $20mil ($12mil year one / Year 2 option for $8mil)
Otani can get somewhere between $4.75-5.75mil a season, he's capped at that.
That would put them at about $15mil to hit the luxury tax. So unless Ellsbury, Headley, Castro or Gardner get traded, I wouldn't expect to see us add anybody in the offseason.
Which is fine by me because unless it's Hosmer or Moustakas, I'm good on everybody in the field that's a Free Agent (I don't want to do a 1 year DH deal again, it's been a huge waste for us every time. Just let Hicks, Clint or Jacoby be the DH, and use it to give Sanchez a lot of rest behind the plate).
Yu may be the only guy we miss out who'd hurt, but not sure he'd leave LA. Maybe Alex Cobb? But how much different is he from Montgomery at what will likely be 20-30 times the cost
