Over some contract ****, Cashman made it public and was trying to make it seem like Jeter wanted to leave NY. Jeter was livid, he's mad private and never intended to leave.

I loved the guy but the Captain had regressed tremendously by that point. He thought he was going to get paid simply because he was Derek Jeter. Jeter wanted more money and Cash wasn’t budging. He was just doing his job.
