I just wish politics never mixed with sports
Yeah we all know that Tom Brady tries his best to be a secret Trump supporter except that one time he got caught slippin with that hat, but so what? He's not a politician, he just throws a damn football.

yup.

the only problem is these dudes need to be more aware. he has a platform whether he wants it or not. just don't hang the hat. don't say anything. keep it to football.

Is the same being said about Kaep?

This is purely about having a platform before the nonsense starts.

Kaep, praised about having his platform and using it.
Brady has a platform and should keep his mouth shut... "don't hand the hat. don't say anything."

I find that complete nonsense. If he supports the man, he has every right to do so. If Kaep wants to take a knee and do what he does for he cause, he has every right to do so.

You don't NEED to agree with people, it's ok to have your own opinion even if it's not popular as long as you aren't raping or killing anyone. Having the discussion is perfectly fine.

if Brady had the discussion, then yeah. but he hung the hat, then went silent on it when the questions started. so i feel like, use it (the platform), or don't. don't half *** it.

and as for his "support" of trump...they've been friends long before trump ever even thought of running for president. i don't really think Brady supports trump's "political" agenda.

Is it also not his right to tell someome to f-ck off I don't have to explain myself, religious beliefs or political views?

If he hangs a hat in his locker how is anyone the righteous voice to tell him what he can or cannot do?

How the f-ck am I the one standing up for him and people's rights? Jesus what has this come to.

Brady' support for trump vs Kap standing up for the way African Americans are treated is slightly different IMO.
To be very honest...it's not different
It just depends on what side of the political spectrum you are
Most conservatives out there blasted Kaep for his views.
Most liberals blasted Brady for being a Trump supporter.

cause deep down, you love TB12 just like me :hat

no, i hear what you're saying and it's true. it just looks foolish to welcome the questions (by blatantly hanging the hat in the middle of an election race) and then "dodging" questions.

i use the quotes there, because initially he did answer it. but then as things heated up, he went quiet.

all of which is his right to do so, for sure. but it just looks foolish IMO

I 100% disagree with your logic.

Because one group did more wrong, the current group is doing less wrong (iyo)... then it's ok because the previous already did the worst of the two wrongs. Not really how it works...

They aren't doing less harm either.
I never said it was ok for the extreme left to act the way it does because obviously that is wrong too. I'm just saying its not equal to what the extreme right has done to our political discourse that is a  false equivalency.
But you made it ok when you said well they did it first and they did it worst. They are more evil and started this whole thing... that's what you're saying.

Does it matter if it's equal or not? And I'd argue the opposite if that is the stance we are taking. Not my stance at all, but if we HAD to choose sides I'd argue censorship and what's going on now is far more harmful.

All in all, what I truly feel is both sides are wrong going to the extreme. This team mentality and if you don't agree with me you're against me (think Sith Lord) fake righteousness is wrong on both platforms. The extreme parties are wrong... period. Regardless of who started and who continued. It's wrong.
Saying one has done more harm than the other doesn't mean im excusing the actions of the other or saying they are not wrong.

And yes it does matter if its equal or not because people to often try to split the blame evenly with this stuff for the sake of being fair when its not necessary if one side has done more harm than the other its fair to call them out. You can't fix something without an honest assessment of how it really got broken.

If Brady is just supporting Trump cause he's is just his friend but does't support his political agenda that makes him even dumber to me
why?
Because if I had a friend like Trump with the things he believes I couldn't just support them cause they are my friend. There is a line and the things trump spews crosses that line where the its just my friend thing doesn't cut it cause if you can turn a blind eye to that it says alot about you (Brady if thats the reason for his support).

exactly, he showed it off proudly...welcoming the attention

plenty of atheletes and celebs probably support Trump and didnt put it in that light. Folks who want things quiet usually keep it that way from jump

like u said dont half *** it (yeah it's your right to do so) but come on :lol

Ok... let me ask you this.

You have an office, it's your office. Everything you have in there is yours... books, pictures, golf clubs, etc. You hang a trump hat on the coat rack...

Does that invite (as you put it welcome the questions) people to assume and dig in on you. People being outsiders who assume they know you (coworkers, boss, vendors, clients) and grill you?

And on the continued path, would you not shut it down and ignore it when you are being harassed and bombarded?

In the work place, you would be protected for someone calling you a racist... HR is in place for that. But it's rightfully ok to do so with him. He's ignorant because he doesn't want to fight a fight he can't win... there is no win in that argument.

He explains himself, for example says Trump is actually a kind humanitarian and has always supported American ideals and stands behind the people. He truly believes in helping America become great.

Now if that is his true answer to everyone, do they accept it and say OK... do they keep it moving afterwards. Or does he get completely torn apart?

some the exact opposite on certain issues (with race stuff ive even cut a few off cause i dont have time to tolerate that) and if they was running for a local office or something one day and came to me and say they wanted my support as a friend i'd hit em with the

I still believe that athletes shouldn't get publicly shamed for their views at the end of the day
Kaep was preaching for anti violence and an end of police brutality.
Brady likes his buddy Trump, haven't heard him praise Trump's bigotry though.

As long as they don't preach violence and racism, who gives a flying f.

right. so when Brady was asked about Trump being president, he said, "he's my friend. it would be cool because the whitehouse would have a putting green".

he didn't cosign any of his policies or plans. didn't support his political agenda publicly. "he's my friend" is all he really said.

not to mention his wife came out and said they would not be voting for trump. he probably didn't even cast a vote, which is worse in some people's eyes.

anything I put in my office thats in view of other peers..does it invite inital questions someome may have on their mind? sure

I have no issues explaining for what I believe or dont believe in...if its something I dont feel like getting into I wouldnt give someone the opportunity to with anything in my office to see..thats why ppl at my job arent my FB friends :lol

idk its a simple move to me...keep things u want private....private

now if someone really believes Trump is such a great guy..cool, I wont call him off the bat racist, ignorant...but we can have an open discussion on the many many many examples of Trump's actions without berating that person...and you're right at the end of the day..minds wont be changed but that should never stop u from educating one another on your own views..
even if one is ridicuously ignorant

He didn't cosign it but he his attitude about it is what makes me think he has something to hide thats why he should have just been upfront and instead of dancing around it. And saying they aren't voting for Trump honestly doesn't mean much to me cause he dodged questions cause he grasped that it would be a bad look to openly support Trump that could be just PR to put out the flames for all we know.

But of course it doesn't directly affect my life if he supports Trump or not i'm just saying the people you consider friends says a lot about someone and supporting them cause they are your friend despite what they believe is a weak reason to me.

I agree that athletes shouldn't get flogged for political opinions
But LOTS OF PEOPLE chastised Kaep on his political views, saying he wasn't "thankful" for being in America.

Ok... and Brady is in here currently and was being chastised for being racist, facist, and ignorant for supporting Trump.

Example, I have my opinions, I don't think what Kaep did originally was genuine but I fully agreed with the message.

Eventually someone simply mentioned that people change and he could be eventually doing what he said for the right reasons which i agreed with.

But through the initial muck... I was essentially called a racist for what I said, and then what if I was scared off (TB12 + hat) because my view wasn't popular, how would anyone have thoughtful dialogue? Thought provoking dialogue? It didn't nor doesn't scare me, I have my views just like everyone else does. But the fact that I showed evidence and just had my simple opinion it was instant... I was racist.

Facts be damned.
Examples be damned.

Didn't matter, I just didn't agree with people.

Now apply that to Brady, his reasoning may be great for him. But because it's not popular he is racist, fascist and scum.

Could of been civil and had the conversation and maybe there could have been middle ground found like in the conversation I used. But there wasn't civility, and still isn't.

at the end of the day, it was a lose-lose situation for Brady no matter what he said or didn't say once that hat went up in the locker. fair or unfair, it's on him.

People have a hard time understanding just because you voted one way or the other it doesn't automatically make you a terrible person.

Politics have given me nausea this past year. I can't escape the self-righteousness anywhere on social media.

yup

it's actually made me want to ignore it all even more. all the BS that is CONSTANTLY thrown in your face on twitter and facebook and memes by both sides. sickening at this point. and makes you realize there are so many idiots on both sides of the fence. both sides with their "fake news". both sides drawing conclusions. it's terrible.

Lol how you thought about Colin is healthy skepticism

But trust, outside the NT site, I saw folks calling Colin the n word and all types of racist shhhh towards him. Yeah Brady gets vitriol here, but let's not act like Colin didnt **** on too...he just go crapped on by folks who don't visit NT and moreso visit Fox News or Breitbart

I'm a big fan of free speech, but let's not act like only the "left" engages on such vitriol.

The worst was during the super bowl pregame when they just had to have a political interview during it.

Like really Fox News? Idgaf about anything right now, just show me the damn game and anything related to football, not this bs.
