Billy D for me, and it isn't close.
Scott Brooks or Billy Donovan?
we all know the answer to that one. OKC done goof'd
I will never forgive Brooks.
We not going to talk about Russ leaving Pat Beverly WIDE OPEN for a rebound.... in the 4th on that 3 that put Houston up?
Westbrook like 2-13 in the 4th and leaves his man open for a three
Y'all underestimate what Brooks has done to change the culture in WAS
Not saying Donovan is a bad coach, but Brooks would do a hell of a job at OKC had he stayed as their head coach. But what happened happened and it is what it is. Brooks will be successful wherever he goes as long as he has the right pieces.
Maybe goof'd was an overexaggeration, but the fact he can't get Westbrook in line and just allows Russell to go wild that entire fourth quarter tonight shows his lack of experience as a head coach.
Donovan goes to the conference finals in his first season... overachieves in his second season...
I mean... not sure how you can say OKC goofed
Whip breh, you do realize Russ has been playing the same way for his entire career

Brooks, who's a veteran of the NBA (as player and coach) would not tolerate the selfishness Westbrook displayed in the last 5 min of that 4th quarter.
Brooks has penetrated Wall's psyche to the point Wall is now playing almost perfect team basketball and is leading this Wizards group to its best chance at a title shot in decades.
I agree, Billy D has dealt with a lot his first two years, and I commend him for being able to keep this group playing well enough to still make the playoffs w/out KD. But the problem is that Billy D imo isn't strong enough (yet) to be able to control Westbrook and get him in line to play winning team basketball.Billy D has had to deal with some **** his first 2 years there. Dude honestly deserves more love than he gets. When OKC was balling out against GSW last year, they were all executing on all cylinders within his system. When Russ and KD started iso balling that's when the series fell apart.
It's true, I didn't watch every single one of OKC's games so I'm only going by what I saw, which was roughly 30 OKC games a year while Brooks was at the helm plus any article about the team that I read.^ going assume you didn't watch too much of brooks in OKC..
He didn't have it in him to cut things Perkins was doing.. you think he was telling Westbrook or KD anything

Perkins, btw, was a Thunder for waaaayyy too long. Should've been waived after 1 year. Dude was the very definition of a straight up Stiff.
While it may also be true that Brooks "tolerated" Russ' tendencies during Russ' growth years in the league, it can also be said that Brooks would have matured enough to be able to learn how to tame Russ' tendencies had he remained the coach.Whip breh, you do realize Russ has been playing the same way for his entire career

Brooks couldn't control him either but at the same time Brooks did a number of other things that have been well documented to get himself ousted
Not sure how you can say Brooks wouldn't tolerate it when he enabled him for years.. most likely Brooks played a big role in Russ' development and furthered the Bad Russ tendencies we see today

Even Phil couldn't tame Kobe for a few years until Kobe learned to play within Phil's system and eventually realize the importance of winning team ball as the Alpha Dog on the team.
The reason I say this about Brooks is because of the way he has handled the situation in WAS with Wall. Not to mention, he has found a way to coach the team well enough for Wall and Beal to coexist and play cohesively with each other while still involving guys such as Morris, Gortat, Porter, and Oubre.
