2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

OKC has about $12 million for FA after they resign KD.

They could have $20 million if they decline Ersan's option.

theoretically the thunder could be players in free agency, while Durant is unsigned (since they can exceed there cap to extend him, I believe)

waiters is a restricted free agent.. ersan's contract ($8,400,000) is only guaranteed for $400,000 til July 1st.. morrow is on a team option for $3,488,000

right now with all of the above the tunder are at $60,209,261

Wait What??? how much is dipo gettin paid? If they have that much **** Ersan & Dion, you make your move NOW and sort Adams contract out later

My question is will they be able to keep Vic too long term? With the cap rise...

If serge wasn't happy then it seals it

If they don't bring back either Ersan or Waitiers they will have about $26 million to spend.

Would be smart to pick up Ryan Anderson with that or Marvin Williams for cheaper.

Could also go after Bugatti Bazemore.

gilbert arenas' insecurities are shown with this social media age ...i remember a post he made throwing mad shade on his kids mother and he screenshotted a pic of his kid saying i love you dad , i commented saying "bro leave the social media arguing to the girls and show your kids that youre a good father , not us" i believe he deleted it

Yea as long as they are willing to pay tax.

The luxury tax level in 2018 will be around a $125 million. :x

Any owner who is willing to spend and drafts smart now is gonna be sitting pretty.

I like that idea

Yup, another rangy athletic defender who can shoot the 3.

Interested to see what the defense is looking like sans Ibaka, in the playoffs they looked as good on defense as any team I've seen.

OKC defense played very well in the playoffs. If OKC were to play the dubs again, Roberson and KD can guard Draymond very effectively as Draymond doesn't really have an post game

Andre Drummond can't even say congrats to his friend Kris Dunn without people thinking he was shading Reggie Jackson :lol

my biggest issue with ibaka and why I would be worried paying him long term..

for someone who was as athletic as he was (which seemed to be slipping, as has been mentioned).. dude couldn't do simple things to take advantage of it

sure he blocked shots (but that went down the last two years too)..

but i'm talking like rim runs or developing just a slight jump hook or something.. essentially stuff Roberson is doing offensively.. also never got why dude wasn't a better rebounder

obviously his 3 point shooting improved greatly and he had that shot at the elbow or even on the wing.. but for a big with his athleticism, other than block shots just felt like it was being wasted

I feel you, he showed rebounding promise early in his career but got worse every season.

& yea for a guy as athletic as he was, the fact that he didn't really know how to use it his advantage on offense was crazy.

To be fair, he had **** coaching most of his career so far.

^ but my thing.. that's pretty simple stuff.. that's stuff athletic bigs should be doing (block shots, rebound and rim runs/putbacks)

I get on the ball defense being hard.. but if you're good with shot blocking, one would think that rebounding and/or rim runs type stuff would be kinda automatic

and the jump hook, I assume even the dumbest coach would put him on the block get some assistant to work on entry passes.. and tell him just out jump your defender, get something you're comfortable with

I mean if he had time to work on his 3s where he improved to where he is now, I just don't get the other stuff

The source to that rumor is Mitch Lawrence. I don't think he or his sources have ever been right. Not even worth discussing.

Also Considering the Kings drafted THREE centers last night, this gotta be the end for Boogie right? because i see no way they can have WCS & Boogie and think this was an OK move when your star player has already been visibly frustrated with management

I was happy we got rid of Belinelli, but not really happy about anything else. The drafting overall made no sense to me. They've gotta be getting rid of Boogie at this point (which I'm fine with).
