If the Jays win the division or make the playoffs, he's got to be it. Although, I wouldn't argue against Mike Trout (assuming the Angels do the same).

Nelson Cruz is having arguably the best season and I haven't seen one person list him for MVP

probably because he's 15th in WAR and his team is basically eliminated from the playoffs.

Trout, Donaldson, Machado and even Cain are having better all around seasons. Cruz is a great slugger but at the end of the day, the two most complete players are Trout and Donaldson and the former is winning yet another MVP.

Trout one of the best defensive players in the game

So yeah some numbers are close, but Trout's the more complete player who's done more to help his team win. Can't really argue that Cruz deserves the award when his WAR is 2.5 wins lower and the Mariners are 51 and 60 while the Angels are 58 and 51.

The only one that can get the MVP over Trout is Donaldson who has a 6.1 WAR
