Astros possibly getting rid of Tal's Hill next offseason> any fence moved in.

They're going to make some renovations to the park to keep things fresh. There's been articles citing possibly moving the visitors bullpen to CF and old bullpen accessable to fans for seating.

Has Starlin Castro always been behind Javier Baez on the Cubs depth chart?

Would you have Travis Wood your #1 over Arrieta? :lol

I think that's from when Starlin was hurt and finished the year on the DL.

Starlin is the SS, Baez is the 2B as of right now. They are not planning on moving Starlin anywhere, unless Maddon has other ideas.

Hank Conger got traded to the Astros yesterday. I wanted Rizzo to trade for him last off-season to be our backup catcher. Guy raked in the minors, hasn't figured it out at the plate yet in the show, though.
eh....lobotan i think is okay

What a ******* joke Adrian Gonzalez getting the Silver Slugger over Anthony Rizzo. :{

Gonzo had more RBI, and doubles and that's about it. Oh, 9 more Total Bases. :rolleyes

Rizzo had a better Avg, more homers, better OBP, better SLG, better OPS, better OPS+, fewer DP's, more walks, more steals, more runs, a higher WAR, and did so in 45 less plate appearances. :|

It says last verified November, 6th, which is why I was curious. Couldn't tell if that was the Cubs tipping which middle infielder they were leaning towards trading this offseason.

Lobaton is a solid backup, but Conger is a better player in my opinion.

Andrelton Simmons and Jason Heyward Gold Glove winners :hat :D they are the BEST DEFENSIVE players in the entire MLB. Heyward > Legares

Heyward just needs to hit next year. Braves Offseason moves please get rid of BJ Upton package him with Justin Upton i don't even care. Sign/Trade for Starting Pitchers. Keep Gattis
"J-Hey Kid" is not a better defensive player than Juan Lagares. I'm sorry, man.

J. UP!

First of all, these awards don't really matter much, since most are popularity contest.

They are so close in every category, except RBI's. If you are going to cite the "45 less plate appearances, you should also cite that Rizzo gets to play in Wrigley and doesn't play in the NL West (Majority Pitcher friendly ballparks).

RBI's are still sexy to the old school crowd, :lol

Again, doesn't matter.

ooiron manoo ooiron manoo , enjoy Friedman. He's going to recreate 1988, the year I was born.

The $200 million payroll gave people false expectations, :lol

It's a slow build, but glad there is some home grown talent in the pipeline, just like in 2002-2005 when Russel Martin, Matt Kemp, Chad Billingsley, Jonathan Broxton, James Loney, etc. were all in the system and eventually became somewhat productive major leaguers.

Glad management made the moves to produce an instant playoff contenders, to appease the fan base, while the real build of the frachise happens behind the scenes. If we would've won last year, or even this year, it would've been an accident.

Your feeling is HanRam will be easy or difficult to replace?

Easier than people believe. He is still an offensive force when healthy, however, his unwillingness to embrace another position outside of SS will not only hamper him in negotiations but will also cause a major headache for his next team. Hanley wears his emotions on his sleeve, when he's unhappy, everyone knows it. It's going to be tough for his new team to move him to SS.

The team that gets Hanley is going to hand him the SS job. Don't see the Dodgers resigning him for that reason. Would love for him to stay.
