Stopped reading when I didn't see Stanton's name right after Trout's.After the 2014 season, I'd like all the MLB regulars to rank their top-20 outfielders.
1. Mike Trout
2. Andrew McCutchen
3. Adam Jones
4. Carlos Gomez
5. Jose Bautista
6. Justin Upton
7. Giancarlo Stanton
8. Jacoby Ellsbury
9. Yasiel Puig
10. Hunter Pence
11. Yoenis Cespedes
12. Melky Cabrera
13. Carlos Gonzalez
14. Bryce Harper
15. Brett Gardner
16. Jason Heyward
17. Michael Brantley
18. Starling Marte
19. Alex Gordon
20. Matt Holiday
21. Ryan Braun
22. Billy Hamilton
Not extremely scientific, or in-depth to come up with it, but just my eyeball test on it.
I've seen you provide specific stats in recent years. Drastic splits aside, the guy can't stay healthy. Injury-plagued is an understatement.CarGo's splits are WAY too high for me to put him anywhere near the top 10. Last season was the only one. He has really bad splits between Coors and the road.

No need to explain yourself in the Cutch regard, I have him second on my tentative list which is still being drafted. Stanton is third, for what it's worth. The guys I have in front of him have a more complete game. IMO. Only exception of not having a more complete game is Bautista, but he hits for the same power with half the strikeouts. Today, I'd take the guy who is smarter at the plate, when putting their biggest strengths against each other.
Making the case that McCutchen is # 2 is not difficult to make.
Guys like Jones, Gomez, who strike out a lot, are better in other areas of the game. Yet still are good at the plate.
That's why I don't have him # 2.
But looking more closely I would put Stanton ahead of Upton. Probably move Upton behind Ellsbury as well (Ellsbury better on the base, smarter hitter, I wouldn't be hurt if I had either one in the field, but I'd take Ells in the field as well ).
The second half of the list would probably change a lot more. More so from the Melky to the Gordon range, but some of those guys I just haven't seen too much of them play
His defense in center is appreciated.Have to throw Denard Span's name out there.
This game...
yaaaaassss
...is nuts
Please elaborate on your first point, why is Giancarlo the exception to possessing a "complete" game? The "completeness" of your game is irrelevant in baseball especially if you do 1 thing like as good at Mike Stanton does hitting HR's.
Also after watching Jose Bautista make the transition from dead pull elite power hitter, to guy with more walks than strike outs, I think he's the type of guy who can be really effective into his late 30's like Ortiz.
I thoroughly enjoy this debate, and sincerely you are a very knowledgeable baseball mind.@ChampCruThik
For me, its kind of a different argument than what I think OKB is gonna say to you. But I am not even convinced that the players like McCutchen, Upton, Gomez or Adam Jones are even more complete players than Stanton. I know this isnt the end all stat, but Stanton's DWAR is better than McCutchen, Upton and Gomez this season, and he is far superior to them offensively. Adam Jones' DWAR is far better than Stanton's, but Stanton's OWAR is so far superior to Jones' that it more than makes up for that.
When Stanton takes home the MVP trophy this season, he will start to be respected more.....even by real baseball fans. Having him as the 7th best outfielder in the MLB is ridiculous.
