2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

I need to see how this team plays with Caldo and Bargs (the guy who I think will benefit most from this system).

Also we need to find the biggest scrub in the league who gets to the FT line the most and trade for him. We always put ourselves at a disadvantage because every game the FT discrepancy is ~15+

Fwiw my real bday is October 10 lol

What you see Jason smith doing is what bargs should be contributing which would be a nice bonus

This team is ***. I know this team is learning a new system and new coach but a lot of these losses are unacceptable. Too many blown games. **** this **** *** team.

The team runs the same play too many times... back door cuts regardless if its there or not... too many tipped passes cause the plays are so readable...

Defensively we suck. Outaide of Acy and dalembert there is no one who can guard the paint...

Melo needs to start coming off screens like THJR... itll free him up and keep teams guessing

They need to start implementing new things to the triangle. I know Phil said in his book that they ran the same **** for the first month with the Bulls, but the reason there is a "3rd quarter of doom" is because teams probably watch wth we ran all first half and play to defend that in the 2nd half.

The book kept saying you keep adding new things to the system as season goes on, but wereally cant dig ourselves into a big *** hole this early.

new wrinkles definitely need to be added, but i feel like we still need to perfect the basics first. we gotta get over this defeatist attitude that these dudes have. just go out there hungry, play hard mad basketball and do your job. don't ***** about bad calls, don't whine about bad plays, just do your job from the first quarter to the last quarter and have fun doing it.

When you have very few expectations for this team, it's easier to watch them lose as foolishly as they have been :lol

I know it's early, but I'd be SHOCKED if we win 42 games. Players aren't getting the Triangle and we're just not disciplined enough. I also believe Melo is struggling with the Triangle as well, but the media hasn't caught on and made a story out of it.

happy bornday bruhs!
:Nthat

missed the game yet again.
we suck. like we really suck. no pride whatsoever.

and why Fish changing what works tho?
Larkin, Shump, Melo, Acy, Sammy.
i know Acy was hurt a couple games. but if he can play, then start him

HBD to all.

Watched college football after the first half.

We need to finish out games. I feel we bounce back though.

I kinda like Shump at the 1. Especially when Larkin is on the floor with him.

If Phil can't fix this team, we're doomed.
I know yall didn't expect a turn around in one season :lol

In the back of my head since ppl kept looking too FA after this season I was thinking that this season could be a throwaway given what we could put together.

Season is definitely a throwaway but they played two good games that for a moment I actually thought I underestimated them.

Logically I knew it couldn't hold up but I wanna see us do well so bad I did the exact opposite of what I said :lol

we have a good coe. Melo, Acy, Jason Smith, Timmy, JR, these are good pieces. Just need to add some more talent. Get a big like Monroe or Gasol and get some consistency out of the 1. Add a couple of shooters and we'll be ok. It's not that bad. It just needs more time.

knicks get top five pick and Marc Gasol solid b grade free agent I will be happy I would say Rondo but I don't no how the cap work

I think Gasol is a must next Summer - I'd take Rondo to, We will have the cap room for them both once Amare and Bargs come off the books

you guys really dont seem to understand that rondo would probably one of the worst pgs for the triangle. as long as phil and fish are running the team, thats the system theyre gonna run. gasol would be a nice fit, but i doubt he leaves memphis. id rather give monroe the max anyway. it seems like he wants out of detroit and/or detroit isnt pressed on keeping him unless its for less than the max.

^ so get monroe and dragic and then a top 15 pick if we dont make the playoffs... i rather make the playoffs though

You're putting too much emphasis on the triangle

You make adjustments when it comes to a top 10 pg

Rather not waste a max contract on a guy that needs the ball in his hands and can't hit a jump shot. Just my opinion.

This is true, but with the landscape of versatile PG's in the league being so dominate, we'd need a PG to be able to guard these guys. We can't just focus on the offense here. Rondo wouldn't be an ideal fit for the Triangle, but he'd be a great defensive addition to the team.

I think we need to get a big before we get a PG though. It seems like the Triangle isn't nearly as effective as it would be if we had a legitimate big that can get east points in the post. I really believe that's the reason why we're struggling to score in this offense. We don't have someone to draw attention to the post and create opportunities for the players in the perimeter to move around and find open shots. It also would help if we had someone who could consistently attack the rim. Life would be so much easier if we had that right now.

Why do you guys think the Spurs do so well running their motion offense? They have an inside post presence and they have players who attack the basket to open up the perimeter.
