Lexus RC = Toyota GT 86, Scion FR-S, and Subaru BRZ. Cool though.
It's a good thing. Lexus is just taking the platform, upping performance and redesigning the exterior. In 5 years I can see huge car meets for the Toyobaru/RC.I do not see it as bad thing, if it handles as well as the toyobaru (plus that 50/50 weight distribution) and with it's 3.5 V6 engine then this thing will be a Cayman killer instead.

The RC F will make use of the same humble architecture as does the IS350 F Sport and the standard IS, which is a truncated version of the GS’s underpinnings. The IS’s double-A-arm front suspension and multilink rear setup will have spent a substantial amount of time at the Nürburgring being optimized in order to match the times of the RC F’s German competition.
lexus hasn't had a relevant coupe in YEARS...this is nice.
They already testing the rcf i remember seeing quad pipes on one of the test cars
Are they fake quad pipes though? Like in the ISF? I think they are doing with the fake quads exhaust in the GSF too.
body reminds me of the new accord
It's the hybrid version of the twin, powered by a 2.5-liter V6 aided by a 105-kW electric motor, the pair putting out 217 total horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque through a continuously variable transmission. The RC's other, more conventional half will come with a 3.5-liter V6 with 314 hp and 380 lb-ft shifted with an eight-speed sequential transmission.
The brand doesn't want you to take this RC Coupe for a two-door version of the IS. It's based on the GS platform but its dimensions are unique, being wider, lower and shorter in wheelbase than the IS. Concept-car headlights flank the most extreme version of the spindle grille yet seen on a production car, and the lighting novelty continuing in the cabin with illumination that is aimed up instead of down. The package will ride on either 18- or 19-inch wheels.
A performance-focused variant of the RC dubbed RC F is expected to land in showrooms later in the production run. Aimed squarely at the upcoming BMW M4, the range-topping coupe will utilize a 455-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 and pack technology gleaned from the automaker's LFA program.
“Our focus is to strengthen the brand’s emotional appeal through our products and RC is another demonstration of this focus,” said Mark Templin, Lexus International executive vice president. “The emotional attachment of a coupe is found in its purity of design and its engaging driving experience, and with RC the engineers have achieved the balance.”
