RB Flowers not cleared to enroll at Alabama; CB Cook off team
Greg Ostendorf, ESPN Staff Writer

Despite enrolling early and participating in spring practice, freshman running back DeSherrius Flowers will not be cleared for enrollment at Alabama this fall, per a release from the school on Wednesday.

Flowers, ranked No. 104 in the ESPN 300, is the latest Crimson Tide back to leave the program or fall to injury this offseason.

The list includes Altee Tenpenny, who transferred and has since enrolled at UNLV, Tyren Jones, who was dismissed from the program, and Bo Scarbrough, who tore his ACL during spring practice. That leaves Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake as the only two players with any real experience in Alabama's backfield.

Coach Nick Saban also announced Wednesday that sophomore cornerback Jonathan Cook is "no longer a member of the team."

Cook played in three games for the Tide last season.

I don't think Miami played above their heads ..the talent gap wasn't that big last year ..

Golden just went full Golden in the second half

Naw. Kayaa stopped being Joe Montana, secondary stopped giving gargantuan windows and Miami's defense regressed to the mean.

Add in Duke battling cramps & you have the last 3 qtrs for the most part

The defense went into bend don't break mode again. The play calling went into keep the lead don't make mistakes instead of going for the kill.

It had golden ******** his pants and not knowing how to close out a big game written all over itm

Three LSU football players, including quarterback Anthony Jennings, have been arrested and booked at the East Baton Rouge Parish prison, an LSU police and prison official told The Advocate on Thursday.

Jennings, defensive lineman Maquedius Bain and defensive back Dwayne Thomas were arrested by LSU police, said Capt. Cory Lalonde. They were in the process of being booked at the prison at 6 p.m. Thursday, said Sgt. J Cadarette. Thomas is being booked on charges of unauthorized entry and simple burglary. Lalonde would not confirm the charges for Jennings and Bain. Team spokesman Michael Bonnette did not immediately respond to a message for comment.

All of this comes less than two hours after The Advocate reported on the arrest of defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao. He was arrested Thursday on charges of simple battery and simple robbery after a bar fight Tuesday at Reggie’s in Baton Rouge.

It’s unclear if the two are related.

Jennings, a junior from Georgia, was the starting quarterback for the football team last year and was expected to compete with sophomore Brandon Harris for the job this season. Thomas, a junior from New Orleans, served as the Tigers starting cornerback for the first five games of last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He’s expected to be a starter in 2015.

Bain, a sophomore from Florida, served as a reserve last year.
