Biggest worry for Bama is that ****** secondary they trotted out there last year. They won 20+ games and a natty w/ Greg McElroy at the helm being a designated hand off man.

I never thought Bama had an electric pass rush, w/ like a double digit sack guy. They're more about collapsing the pocket and pushing the pocket into the QB/affecting the QB than outright getting lots of sacks.

W/ that said they definitely need a step up in that dept

I don't see how people think anyone but Oregon or Stanford are winning the Pac12. Depending on health, the defense and Kessler's progression I guess maybeeeee USC is a darkhorse/longshot, but Oregon is scary man...

I mean UCLA isn't winning it... When's the last time you even beat Oregon? After Dixon tore his ACL or they would have stomped you that year too?

Explain to me why UCLA won't.

And then explain to me how USC has a chance when they won't even be representing the South in the title game.

Because UCLA sucks and USC doesn't.

But to answer the question seriously, because the past few years USC has played Stanford and Oregon better than UCLA has and that was with the death penalty, zero depth and horrible coaching.

UCLA has had the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the Pac for 2 years now and has done what? I just don't see why this years team has so much more hype than last years?

If you couldn't win the Pac in 2013 what suddenly makes you the favorite in 2014 when the league is loaded?

USC is on a different level from UCLA?
No. But we've beaten both of those teams and quarterbacks in recent memory.

I've openly said UCLA was better than us the past two seasons. But he seems to think they're better than they are.

Back to back above .500 seasons and 2 straight rivalry wins will do that to you.

But UCLA a national championship favorite?

Let's see them keep it within 4 TDs against the Ducks first.
