It's not really. NT is one of the only places I've heard it. Just by sheer impact on the game and relevancy even on bad teams I don't think it's even close. I mean from 2008-2012 was Duncan even in the consciousness of the average fan. I'd venture to say he's not even when he was winning chips.
These last 3 seasons sure, but that's only a small fraction of both their careers.
When they were both still great top 10 talents, Bean has gotten the best of Duncan more often than not.
Every once in a while Seaman wants to be taken seriously but the thing is you spend 99% of the time trolling and calling great players washed, losers, and bums. You never miss a chance to **** on LeBron or Chris Paul. Someone states their opinion about Kobe and you wanna serious and take personal shots
And who made the backup account to cosign you?
Canadian civil war
having the experience IS the context. the effects of an action are best measured by those who are experiencing said actions, not someone sitting at home watching tv. sorry you're not that important.this is not about teaching, this is about the effectiveness of a players actions. there is no better evaluator of that than the same people on the floor as the player.
it doesnt matter that wayne gretsky is a terrible coach, that is a totally different skill than physically matching up with a player and finding out he's tougher to play than the next guy
it doesnt matter that michael jordan is a terrible GM, that is a totally different skill than physically matching up with a player and finding out he's tougher to play than the next guy
it doesnt matter that hakeem is a bad skills development coach, that is a totally different skill than physically matching up with a player and finding out he's tougher to play than the next guy
it doesnt matter that magic johnson is a terrible analyst, that is a totally different skill than physically matching up with a player and finding out he's tougher to play than the next guy
your straw man arguments are making you look foolish.
it doesnt matter that byron scott is the worst coach in basketball, if he thinks that john stockton was a better player than gary payton from personal experience then that's all there is to it. your spreadsheets dont mean anything, your 45 degree angles dont mean anything, your true shooting % doesnt mean anything. If the people who have actually put in the work in life to step on a basketball court think a player is the best then that's all that matters. i'm sorry but all your pride in what you know is worthless, it wont change the experiences of people who have actually faced these all time greats.
No it's not actually a strawman it's the essential crux of the argument. Having an experience vs being able to put that experience into context. The experience is worthless if you can't understand how it applys to the question.
being good enough to play in the NBA is not the same as having the mental equity to accurately gauge the value of anecdotal experience vs all the other available evidence and accuatley ***** the value of a player.
Steve Jobs had no experience as a programmer, no experience as engineer, but he had an ability to understand and apply these disprate concepts towards solving a problem. Ultimatley all the experience in the world isn't going to make the Iphone.
....
I really can't belive I'm explaining this.
canada has a lot in common with the USDamn, went to the gym for a while and come back to a full on Canadian civil war in here. And to think I was under the impression they were peace loving up there.
Sure he's won more games, but they have the same number of chips and the production is in Bean's favor even with basically having 2 seasons off.Not just the past three seasons though, i'm talking about their ENTIRE careers. Duncan has won more than Kobe in their respective careers.
this is 100% correct when it comes to basketball fansKobe is sponsored by Nike and plays for the Los Angeles Lakers that a large reason why youve heard about him so much but that doesnt mean he's a better player than Duncan.
