No it really doesn't man.I know. But it goes to show that the Spurs too brought talent to help their star
Absolutely was brought in to appease Kobe and the fanbase.Someone in the know help me out here....
Was Byron hired to appease Kobe (also did Kobe have input) as his career winded down? Is it a case of doing what Kobe wants, because he's meant so much to the franchise, player development *cough* D'Angelo Russell *cough* be damned?
Meaning...after this farce of a Lakers season is over, will they blow the whole thing up and get an entirely new coaching staff on board?
I meant in regards to "scarring them away."Dwight I can agree, with, Pau not at all.
You don't think they got Pau for Kobe? Dude was on the way to the next team if something drastic wasn't done. The Lakers being able to unload some beef jerky for another's team's franchise player i'm sure was done to keep Kobe happy.
They had their bouts the last year or two, but Pau was more tired of being disrespected by management by constantly being in trade rumors. I think they couldn't even offer Pau that much money by the time they acquired Lin and re-signed Hill/Swaggy in 2014 (I know, I know. ).Dwight I can agree, with, Pau not at all.
It was clear as day that Pau had grown tired of playing with Kobe. Even though Kobe considers him one of his favorite teammates, Pau was noticeably not bought in, and tired of playing in LA. Part of that was Kobe. Remember all the **** he used to get? Lakers fans and media foolishly thinking he was washed. Nah, he just didn't wanna play there.
He bolts with the quickness in Free Agency to Chicago and puts up 18 & 12 the next year in Chicago.
Silly me still thought they were gonna win that Heat series. Even amidst all the turmoil. They were right where they wanted. #1 Seed, ECF vs the Heat. Home court advantage. Game 1 victory.I was legit scared of that Pacers team their last year
Not only does was Kobe subbing himself in and out of games until maybe the past two years, he also is still dictating what they run on offense and hijacking possessions left and right.I guess I'm the only one that thinks Kobe subs himself in and out of games as his pleases. I'm not blaming Mike for anything. Especially when in 2015 with no Achilles and soap suds all over him, Kobe is still playing 31 mpg.

I don't think so, but who knows. Hopefully they just shuffle him to some scouting role like Rudy T.P - there isn't a chance in hell Byron coaches the Lakers past this year, right?
He'll be back if the Lakers can somehow get to 30 wins. SrsP - there isn't a chance in hell Byron coaches the Lakers past this year, right?
That's just only this year. Spurs always only brought role players. Duncan had to play with the likes of McDyess, Ratliff, Nesterovic after David Robinson retired.I know. But it goes to show that the Spurs too brought talent to help their star

What about ClarksonI sure hope not. With Kobe leaving, I suggest they completely start over. Sell everything that isn't nailed down r named Julius Randle or D.Russ. And start over. Completely. Rebrand. 100.
They brought in role players because from 2004 on, their big 3 was establishedThat's just only this year. Spurs always only brought role players. Duncan had to play with the likes of McDyess, Ratliff, Nesterovic after David Robinson retired.
so you admit that AI is not a superstarHe's no question top 10, but he just might be the most uncoachable superstar to ever play the game.

No doubt in my mind if Kobe and Lou weren't on the team he would be putting up 22ppg right now. He's shooting over 43% from the 3 right now and if this proves to not be a fluke, then I think the Lakers got one. He's a flat out star. Like Russell Westbrook but who can actually make 3's. He still has a ways to go to get into the Westbrook class of playmaking, but he's got it man. What about Clarkson
How? All I said was kobe was maybe the most uncoachable superstar to ever play the game. The same could be said about AI. Them being uncoachable has nothing to do with them being superstars or not. Sorry
so you admit that AI is not a superstar
Reminds of the articles railroading the Lakers for having not signed superstar free agent since Shaq in 1996 the summer before last. They brought in role players because from 2004 on, their big 3 was establishedThat's just only this year. I agree, dude is crazy efficient. No doubt in my mind if Kobe and Lou weren't on the team he would be putting up 22ppg right now. I mean it's a longshot that they'll get there but they'll probably be better as the season goes along so they'll pick up some wins along the way. I don't think they'll get there but you never know.30 wins?
Still don't see how this discounts Duncan's legacy. He was still the top dog of the "Big 3", even though Ginobili was and is still inconsistent as hell. I don't even think Kobe can win with just Parker and Ginobili. It took him Bynum, Gasol, and LO to win a championship again after losing Shaq. They brought in role players because from 2004 on, their big 3 was established
