Series is a classic example of how 1 game, 1 loss can absolutely impact the following game.

Looking at the current finals, I have no idea why the Warriors laid down in game 3 like that. If they lose on Sunday they'll have to ask themselves that question all summer.

I was telling my boy the same damn thing after Game 6. If they lose the series, that's the one they should point to be mad at themselves over. They let their foot off the gas.

TBH it felt like they decided at some point in that game they were perfectly content with closing the series out at home. Can't ever take **** for granted man.

CRYING @ that Riles story though.

No one in the top 10 (besides Simmons & Ingram) is worth trading DLo for.

Chad Ford's logic is that because the Lakers worked out more than just Ingram (and Simmons who isn't doing workouts)... It's called due diligence.
Clearly they want another Top 5 pick. So clearly they are trading Russell for a lesser talented draft prospect. And by lesser it's far lesser.

I'm really curious of the Warriors locker room dynamic next season.

In all likelihood, Barnes is coming back and will likely be the highest paid Warrior.
 
I think everyone would understand the payday is a result of timing and market, but yeeeeeeah.

I would sign and trade Barnes, if you can't trust a someone you pay that contract as a starter in the finals what's the point of having him?

I would let Festus go too, he looked horrible.

They'd have to renounce Barnes and Bogut and give all the extra money to Curry. I can't think of a more ridiculous idea. They have him on a bargain contract. No team is killing their flexibility to reward a player before they absolutely have to.
 
Steph would be stupid to sign an extension now. Just wait 12 months and cash in on $200M.
 
Nah they're not going to waste their cap space to pay Curry a year early. They will wait until after the season then pay him. If they were to do that, it'd be a colossal mistake.

are safe, they offer a lot of intangibles you need, last year of their deal, them expiring allows the Warriors to reset after next year (potentially, if they want to).


Bring back Livingston for his $5.8mil which is currently non-guaranteed, won't find a better backup for less than that. Also last year of his deal.

I'd wait on Barnes. Obviously offer him his RFA. And see what comes of it. See if there is any S&T out there, but unless it favors the Warriors, you sign him for whatever it takes, and deal with him after the season. Tell him what you're offering straight out, and say, Look, we need to line up some eggs first, then pay you.

Looney...Bring him back.

Then if you're the Warriors you chase 2 names. Joakim Noah.. Limits his minutes and potential injury risk, fits in well with Warriors offensive system due to being a supremely well passing big.

Or Bring back Kent Bazemore, who will bolster the team with more 3&D.


Then you come back around with the 30th pick, and the $5.3mil David Lee trade exception, and try to pick up another bench player who can give you some minutes at either the 2/3 or 4/5 depending on the FA you signed.

And round out the roster with a veteran for the $2.898mil Room Exception

It's termed a "renegotiate and extend":

Consider a purely hypothetical scenario in which the Golden State Warriors had cap space in the summer of 2016 and worried about losing Curry the following year as a free agent. The 27 year-old Curry is scheduled to make a mere $12.1 million in the last year of the biggest bargain contract in the league. With sufficient room, Golden State could renegotiate Curry up to his projected 2016-17 maximum of $25.1 million, and then offer him a three-year, $87.2 million extension on top of it. That is a total of $100.2 million in new, guaranteed, money, with the benefit of locking it in a year earlier to mitigate against the risk of injury.

If Curry were a free agent in 2017, the most he could receive from another team would be a four-year, $130.3 million deal that would pay him $95.7 million over the first three years, $4.5 million less than he would make in new money from a renegotiation and extension. What’s more, the Warriors could offer him a player option on the third year of the extension, allowing him to become a free agent again at the age of 31 (with eligibility for a higher tier of maximum salary as a player with 10 plus years’ experience) should he so choose.

Noah's a bit redundant with Bogut already in the fold (provided he's healthy). And to be real, Noah could just be Varejao clone out there.
 
But you only get 1/3rd to 1/2 a season out of each of them anyways so it works out.
 
The idea is to do everything you can to keep them healthy.. Their redundancy becomes irrelevant because of that. And keeps the offense flowing
