Actually everyone says Lebron disappeared during that series, so in my eyes, it's like he wasn't even there. How can you blame someone who wasn't even there?
And I don't even blame him in the other 3 finals losses. He needed moar help.

The other one was talking about how no one traded for Dwight because he's no longer a franchise player
I can't decide which one is more hilarious.

For starters, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They obviously are in an entirely different stratosphere in comparison to the rest of the league.
However,
Interconference matchups increase ten fold during the 2nd half of the season. By NO Means am I trying to knock the Dubs, but they've played OKC once, SAS once, and LAC twice within the first week or so of the season. And of those games, only one was on the road. The thinking, is that it'll be significantly tougher to be that good down the stretch this year. They've got the 3rd strongest strength of schedule remaining in the league, and they've got to go on the road against LAC, OKC multiple times, and SAS multiple times. I think they play LAC 2x, OKC 2x, and SAS 3x. All those games could go either way. And that's not counting a random loss here and there.
The hot take is that they won't do it. The real take is that they obviously can do it, but it's going to be incredibly tough. They are elite though, so they could do it, but I'm betting against it.

Matchups will always matter in bball. The problem is GSW is so versatile no matter who they have on the floor someone on their squad has a clear advantage.
His own ankles are the only thing capable of slowing him down the way he's playing.

They only played the Spurs once. Which was a blowout. But that was at home. They almost never win on the road against SAS and they have to go there twice.
The OKC game was pretty close and they obviously have no answer for KD. And that was at home too. They go on the road against OKC twice. (I Think?)
The Clippers, while losing both games this year have probably played them better than anyone else in the league this year. Off the top of my head I don't know if another team has had a double digit lead on GSW in the 4th quarter twice. They play the Clips twice.
By no means is this me shadow boxing what they've done so far, It's just a fact that their schedule gets much tougher these last 30 games or so.

Here's where your flaw is.
Your logic being that GSW as a team > OKC as a player is an awesome premise...for a seven game series. On any given night during a regular season game though? That absolutely could be enough to win them a game or two against GSW. They were right there down the stretch.
The hot take is that they won't get it, because of the aforementioned reasons. But they are 48-4, and are historically great. So if they do get the record, I would only be mildly surprised. I'm not playing both sides of the fence like you're suggesting, i'm just acknowledging that while they could absolutely do it, I don't think they will.
