2014 NFL Draft Thread

Also why is Eric Ebron that much better than ASJ
So they took the athletic freak that can't catch

So you've never watched Eric Ebron play football, got it.

Man I'm exaggerating, let me vent.

Rasheen Mathis is the best secondary player on my team right now.

Hey no doubt, you should have taken a CB, no question from me.

But Ebron playing off Calvin, with Reggie lurking underneath, on turf no less, is freaking insane. If Stafford stays in his lane, he could absolutely go nuts in that offense and I have no idea what to do with them in the red zone.

Freakin two tight end sets with Fauria and Ebron, Calvin outside and Reggie in the backfield, you have 3 guys that can get up for the ball, and you can't double all 3 of them.

They 'could" be a monster on offense. CB may have been the safer pick, hell maybe even the smarter choice, but Ebron could be the bigger homer run at 10 and really do for that offense what Jimmy Graham does for the Saints. And the Saints don't have a Calvin, so it could be even worse for folks.

AND, it lessens the burden on Calvin a lil bit. Not every drop back has to be on his shoulders plus less safety work if they have to eye Ebron on the opposite hash.

Man you got me excited with this type of talk last year. I'm not letting you do it again no matter how eloquently you type it. :lol

They should have traded down to 18 even if all they got an extra 3rd or 4th.

Dudes had that pick in so fast unless you blew their doors off they weren't trading it.

Hey, Reggie balled for you guys, and so did Calvin. But Pettigrew didn't add a damn thing, and Stafford didn't have help for Calvin.

Holy ****, I forgot Golden Tate is on the opposite side now as well.

They got weapons on deck. Just draft a couple corners in rounds 2-4 and hope your pass rush can make up some of the difference.

The Lions entered the 4th quarter leading more games than any team in the NFL except Seattle.

When push came to shove teams could always makes plays against our secondary in the 4th.

Pryor is a play maker, Ha-Ha is solid, I would got have got over the Ebron pick but then my man crush went 27th. I just KNEW Deone was gonna be there at 45. Jimmy Ward can't hit but he makes plays on the ball.

All gone man.

We actually have some young corners that may be able to step up so I wasn't even pressed about not getting one of them but safety was such an obvious pick to me.

I'm so ready to turn on Stafford.

Deone went early. I also thought he'd be there in the 2nd. Good for him though. He's gonna do damage in the League.

are you really not happy with Ebron? like i get it, CB a need. but man...that offense is :x

i was praying, hoping, thinking that if he was there for NE in the second, they'd be all over it :lol

I'm just to the point to where I'm asking myself how many more weapons does Matt Stafford need.

Not one but two good running backs, we signed Golden Tate, Fauria is entering his second year, and maybe the best wide receiver of all time.

Oh and a good offensive line, I mean damn if a dude needs all this to succeed maybe he ain't one or maybe you need to stop putting him in the situation where he has to protect leads by throwing the ball and actually stop somebody when it counts.

I think what someone was sayin earlier is coming more true.

I spoke of the 4 major needs, QB, OT, DE, and CB.

Someone countered that Safety might be more important (I think it was one of the Eagle fans...) and look at this first round. 4 Safeties, and 5 corners. That's 9 DB's out of 32.

BTW, 3 QB's, 4 OT's (5 if Martin stays at OT), and 4-5 DE/OLB pass rushers. That's 20-22 of the 32 picks in round 1.

Can Any buckeye fan tell me if Bradley roby's size is something to be worried about?

5-11, 195? Hell no, that's right in line with most of the CB's in the league. And he can still add a few pounds of muscle once he gets into that NFL strength program.

He'll be fine. I like Roby, even tho he had a rough year last year

Long *** day man, I'm out for the night. I'm exhausted. :lol

See y'all in the AM.

I am not looking forward to facing Brandin Cooks twice a year with Brees throwing him the ball......

If Tampa gets Lee right after getting Evans...:{

I'm not gonna lie I'm really hoping we are able to grab Lee and pair him with Evans and VJax.

I can't front, that would be an INSANE trio, plus you'd still have Martin in the backfield. Lawwwwd :x :x :x. Hoping my boys go with the best tackle available at #60 (if it's not a reach), or double up at wideout...but if y'all nab Lee, I think we'd have to take a corner like Desir or Jean-Baptiste if available.

Easley is so ******* good. People had Clowney and him as like 1a / 1b at the start of CFB season. So happy Seattle didn't get him.

However, those poor AFC East teams...

:hat

They just gotta deal with it *inserts gif*

Edit: lions fans gotta chill complaining about Ebron. I don't think y'all understand what kinda potential he has in that system with Calvin Johnson. He has had some bad drops but it's worth the risk IMO

I'm so torn about panthers taking Benjamin. As a huge Seminole fan I know his potential and I wanna root for him but now that he's in the same conference I wanna see him get shut down every game.
