Interesting: McShay/Polian in agreement that Johnny Manziel has stronger arm than Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater.

Analysts are talking Manzi's arm vs Bortles. My take.. Manziel's is good. Bortles is average

Damn “@RichCimini: Manziel is slinging it. Bill Polian says Manziel's deep ball reminds him of Jim Kelly. #nyj”

Niketalk TAMU guys be like "Yesss...Told ya'll."

I'm actually a bit surprised that his arm strength stands out like that. Not neccessarily over Bridgewater, but to notice a big difference over Bortles and to compare to Kelly means it must really stick out just how his ball spins. I'm interested to see.

I'll also temper expectations based on hearing the opinions of others until I see for myself.

It's a pro day...he's supposed to look good.

Who you tellin'? :lol

Yes. But arm strength was one of the many debates about Manziel and if pro day is good for anything, it's displaying how the ball spins when making NFL throws.

That might be all it's good for...that and look outstanding in his Nike setup :lol

His arm strength was never an issue for anyone that paid attention.

Now to play devil's advocate....

If he had a bad pro day, would you guys still be saying "It is only a Pro Day...not a big deal" or would you guys be ripping him, talking about how Jaws was right, and how he doesn't deserve to a a top 5-10 draft pick?

Each one of these QBs had a pro day and every was critical of Bortles showing out and Bridgewater coming in looking unprepared for his. Now Johnny balls out and they are saying he has the better arm and such, and now it is "It is only a Pro Day... He is supposed to look good."

I see both ends of the spectrum and he makes plays and even throws it better than what I used to think he could (especially this past year he threw more and had good numbers.), but he can definitely get in trouble if he tries to make too many plays with his feet and extending the play.

You guys already know how people defend him though. I just don't want it to become people downplay him just because so many other people like him. Guys about to make him the NFL version of Lebron with the praise/hate that will ensue if he balls out in the NFL

Cleveland wasn't at his pro day, damn. Him going top 5 would've shaked up the draft, hopefully Carr does

I'm hoping Bortles, Carr and Manziel all go before the Vikings pick at 8. Maybe even Teddy if it assures them of Mack.

Yep I was looking these stats a few months ago he threw the deep ball more than any of the top QBs in this draft and was slightly more accurate than Bortles doing it. He also threw the 11-20 yds "NFL throw" more accurately than any of the others.

Where Bortles and Bridgewater stand out is against pressure and blitz, Johnny looks about avg
