2014 NFL Draft Thread

If OT isn't the spot, then go OG with Richardson, Yankey, Treadwell, and take an OT in rd 2 that can play the RT spot, and sign a LT in free agency. (Albert)

Nobody is taking Hyde in round 1, give it a rest already.

Why reach for a rb at 19 when there will plenty available from the second round on

Why reach for Dion Jordan at #4 if he wasn't going to see the field? Why sign Mike Wallace to a huge contract to be a #2 receiver when no other team was going to pay him that much?

You don't continue to make dumb decisions just because you made them in the past

You do know this was a contract year for Albert, right? You do know he turns 30 during the season, right? Albert is solid but, if that's the case, they might as well had of resigned Jake Long. Oh, or draft and play two rookies on an offensive line? That ALREADY had issues (much which were not on-field related)?

You're finns, aren't you? You get banned or somethin, why you got a new SN?

No way there's 2 people that think so small, you have to be finns. :lol

The Phins organization has been making boneheaded decisions FOREVER. Like passing on every great University of Miami player. Like letting Welker, Marshall, Ginn, etc. go. Like drafting Jason Allen in the first round. Letting Vontae Davis and Sean Smith go. Like signing Dante Culpepper. The list goes on bro. Drafting Ronnie Brown at #2 overall. Then, they want local tax payers to pay for stadium renovations. LOL

So you want the Dolphins to make a full round reach for a rb when he has no line to block for him.

Why is all the blame pit against the OLINE? Miller and Thomas were HORRIBLE in blitz pick-up. Hyde is more than capable as a blocker. I'm not saying don't address OLINE this draft. They'd be silly not to. You can never have enough OLINE/DLINE but, the game is a team effort. I think the offensive line is being scapegoated.

Since you need everything spelled out for you, if you don't like Albert, then try Eugene Monroe, or Anthony Collins, or Rodger Saffold, or Geoff Schwartz, or Michael Oher, or Jon Asamoah, or Alex Mack.

ALL free agents, pick and choose any 1-2-3 you like, and supplement those players, with a draft pick or two.

Bottom line ends up being, those 3-4 players will be better than the trash we were using the last 2 months. Period. End of story.

Then, at that point, you can find a nice RB in round 3-4, and pair that player with Miller, and either Gillislee, or sign a small contract FA lookin for a job. Like maybe Donald Brown. Or maybe even Chris Johnson gets cut, and we try to land him.

Whoever we pick up, will be better than Daniel Thomas, so again, upgraded Oline, upgrade over Thomas, upgrade at OC = great start. Develop Tannehill, get Gibson back healthy, little more comfortable with Mike Wallace, there ya go. Offense is better than last year, fairly easy.

Stop with the draft Hyde top 20 ********. :{

:rollin :rollin

Yeah, it's finns.

That has to be Carlos Hydes screen name, has to be.
But why would he want to be drafted by the Dolphins?

So he can block for Tannehill of course. :lol

Swear to God, I have never seen more praise for blocking at the RB spot than I saw this year for Daniel freaking Thomas (who, ironically, was not good at blocking)

Every fan I encounter is now so enamored with running backs that can block, they forget to worry about whether the ******g guy can ya know, RUN with the ball. :lol :lol :lol

draft a running back in the first round...to be a good pass blocker...to fix a bad o line.

what the **** did i just walk into?

Why haven't you applied to join a Front Office? you clearly know everything about building a team

:lol

CP is probably one of the most condescending folks on here, but i'll give him this. he does always back up his claims with tangible arguments. just take the message for what it is, and not how it's delivered and you'll hate him less :hat

Exactly. :lol

Thank you DWS.

And Jump, I'm dumb as doorknob, I promise you that, but I am smart enough to know not to draft a RB at 19, for his blocking abilities. Not sure that makes me qualified to work in a front office, well, maybe Cleveland's, but nobody else.

LOL, so yea, Dolphins should draft Hyde and convert him to LT :{. OBVIOUSLY his role will be as a running back. Some of you dudes must be strictly spectators and never played a down of football in your life. Clinton Portis, Emmitt Smith were two notoriously LETHAL backs at blitz pick-up. There's a reason why Brandon Jacobs wasn't a good 3-down back (And not just because Ahmad Bradshaw was the better runner). Put your QB back there with an RB who can't pick up blitzers. He'll be sleeping with the fishes. One of Maurice Jones-Drew's BEST highlights isn't even a run. It's that kill shot he put on Shawne Merriman. But whatever bruh bruh. I'd rather them draft Lamarcus Joyner over anyone but, they did pass on Ed Reed too back in the days...

i thought the same exact thing :lol

when's the last time you saw a rookie running back learn to pick up blitzes from day 1. you've acknowledged offensive line issues, i think it would be much smarter to draft there first. gotta build from the trenches.

BTW, some of you may have misunderstood, I know a RB needs to help pick up the occasional blitz, my point was MIAMI fans were giving Daniel Thomas a pass because he was somewhat ok as a blocker.

Couldn't pick up a 3rd and inches to save his soul, but they were ok with that, cuz, blocking.

I spent half the year telling people that if a RB's best attribute is blocking, you need a new running back.

I feel like its fairly remedial that a running back should be good at, iono, running with the ball? Maybe I'm unfair in that expectation.

Man, y'all better stop thinking I'm disguised as someone. LOL, I'm not any of those guys. I've been on NT since 2001, I ain't got time to play Jekyll and Hyde (no pun intended).

Bro, of course start in the trenches! But tell me, who will you guys draft at 19? Kouandjio will be gone. Martin will have to be converted to guard. Y'all will still be left with Mound (not Mount anymore) McKinnie, who is about to be 36 y/o. But honestly, the Phins have holes all over.
