Like that nickname, Dre. I know it's Rutgers, but Bortles looked beyond terrific. Scarlet Knights pass defense is putrid, but I'm talking more about fluidity in the pocket, escapability. That's where the Ben comparisons come from. Along with the size.

Bridgewater over Clowney? O-lines would dread facing Watt and Clowney on the same defense.

you win with top tier QBs in the NFL. not dominant defensive lines. the jets have an amazing front 7, and they stink because their offense stinks.

Bortles or Manziel is a tough decision for a team (GM) in need of a QB.

Kidding, the comparisons are not spot on, but if I had to chose, and I would say Bridgewater is far from a "sure thing", I would go Manziel. If anything could he be on par with Russell Wilson? I think the Texans would be just fine with that.

Fine, but is Johnny a better Pro prospect than teddy?

These scrambling / on the run QBs are fun to watch and make things interesting.

But when was the last time a non prototypical QB ( stand in the pocket / big arm / etc ) QB won a chip?

Why is Money a better choice over Teddy other than making a splash ?

I kinda get what you're saying, but there are QBs like Big Ben (2 chips) who extend plays due to not staying in the pocket all the time. Same can be said about guys like Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco.

Manziel's uncanny ability to extend plays is going to pay dividends on the next level. Whether he stays in the pocket or is on the outside, he's going to be a threat regardless. You can also make up for a lack of arm strength by extending the play. All he has to do is buy time for his WRs to get open. It will be more of a challenge as a pro, but I think his skill set will translate. FWIW, he doesn't have a weak arm.

I'm not saying he's as good or worse of a prospect than Bridgewater, but there isn't a chance in hell I'm writing him off on the next level. If he goes to a team with a strong run game, I really think you'll see him flourish.

Can't wait to see him as a pro.

Vick couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with his passes...Manziel is completing close to 70% of his throws in his career. MANY of them, NFL quality.

Completely understand where you are coming from. Manziel may be a "gimmick", but to me he has the potential to be somewhat Favre-like, possibly even Drew Brees-like in the right system/offense. I don't see Bridgewaters ceiling being that high. Manziel might be a "white Vick", but Bridgewater could be Byron Leftwich or similar. I don't think either is a "surefire" pick. I would feel better about Mariota if he were available in that spot. He has a bit of both of these guys in him and prototypical size. If manziel were 6-3, would there even be a doubt he would be an overall 1-2 depending on team's needs?

Leftwich and Bridgewater don't have similar skill sets, Leftwich couldn't run, had a big slow release and wasnt known for his accuracy.

Throw on the LSU tape from this year and you'll see how similar Vick and Manziel look.
