2014 NFL Draft Thread

[tom cruise as lt. kaffee]i'd like an answer, judge/[tom cruise as lt. kaffee]

I really don't see what's so special about him. He's solid but I don't see him threading the needle on much passes and doing anything that jumps out enough for him to be an unquestioned top 3 pick. His conference is absolutely awful this year and he still hasn't put up that amazing of numbers this year. Most of the touchdowns I've seen him throw have been to LITERALLY wide open receivers. Like nobody was within 5 yards of whoever he was throwing to. Not sure if it's the offense Louisville runs or if that's just how bad their opponents have been this year.

You keep bringing up his conference and his opponents. Who did Joe Flacco face at Delaware? Romo at Eastern Illinois? If conference play and strong opponents were the measure of a good QB, then Tim Tebow, Ken Dorsey and Matt Leinart would be tearing up the NFL right now. I mean, he kinda shredded the hell outta Florida last year in their bowl game, who's to say he doesn't destroy another 'tough' opponent this year?

The dude is talented as hell. He's got a strong arm, good accuracy, and has great pocket awareness. Plays in a pro-style offense and does it well.

Just because he isn't a once-in-a-generation type guy doesn't mean he shouldn't go top-5.

I will say this, Andrew Luck must have set one hell of a precedent because if a team a is scared to draft a QB because he's not that type of a prospect is that position becoming more & more of a problem?

Especially if a QB is the consensus best of his draft class?

Good God at that reasoning man. :lol :lol :lol

The entire football community is in on Teddy bein a #1 pick, even if Clowney or someone else jumped, Teddy at 2 or 3 would be fine, universally.

Got to love the guys that want to swim upstream and use reasoning like "his conference is no good" Or he doesn't thread the needle enough. Isn't the point of quarterbacking to NOT have to thread the needle? Is it a knock on a QB for throwing the ball where it doesn't have to be in danger? :lol

Next time just say you haven't seen a QB throw the ball thru a tire enough, then we'll all be on board with you. :lol

hey it's a hot sports take…maybe teddy bombs and buc em will finally be able to say he got something right. i can dig it :hat

:lol

Teddy is good at beating Rutgers, so hopefully a team in the AFC East takes him.

Call me skeptical on Mariota staying.

He just got hurt in college, he wants to risk it again?

He's likely 2nd QB off the board, 2 other Seniors just blew their knees out......he may say he's staying, but still another 6 week's to change his mind.
I don't see how someone could justify staying to themselves in this type of position.  He is a guaranteed top 5 pick- probably top 3, with someone trading up to draft him if #3 is Atlanta.  Look at Barkley and Leinart.  Unless you are Andrew Luck, what is staying going to do for you?

He's actually saying the same about Wiggins in the NBA Draft thread, so I guess he's making multiple bust-bets.

This all of this.. If I had a 1st round grade I was gone.. Hell I would go if I had a 2nd round grade..

It's football, you have no idea how many years you will have to get paid

I don't think he is poor in anyway and his family is very strong about him getting his education. I understand what you guys are saying but he probably cares more about getting his degree and graduating

I respect the importance of education, but as someone who is making the NFL your career of choice, you can go back and finish your degree with ease in the offseason or afterwards.

And I think that in this case that is probably the smart choice.

All y'all can chill the **** out and stop taking your unpaid brilliant sports analyzing job so serious.

I did not say Bridgewater was trash or is going to be a bust. I just said I don't see what's so special about him for him to be talked about as potentially the top pick in the draft. I said he's solid but I don't see anything spectacular about him.

I really think some of you dudes top hobby in life is arguing with me on here to tell me how wrong I am about everything I say regarding sports.

Bridgewater is also the anti-Wiggins. Bridgewater can do everything really solid but nothing elite. Wiggins has elite athleticism and well....nothing else.

That's what you got out of that?

*insert Jaguars fan gif*

I'm done, I'm done.

Oh please. Go back to the college basketball thread and make more excuses for Wiggins.

Miami will certainly be looking at him. (And any other lineman in the draft.) :lol

Griese called Bortles the best QB in the class. They saying Andrew Luck-lite.

Don't see it, but he can be a good starter in the league.
