2014 Chevrolet Corvette [UPDATED]

Tailored steering, multiple drive modes, auto-adjusting differential...IMO it's just too much technology to cram into a sports car.
The new Corvette seems like a sports car trying to be a luxury performance sedan.

Honestly, I think it's a good thing, though I wouldn't say it is trying to be a luxury performance sedan rather a luxury GT.

They also offer 2 different type to cater to either crowd. From LeftLaneNews' review:

Both the standard 'Vette and its track-ready Z51 big brother revealed their own distinct personalities during our preview drives on the sun-parched curvy byways outside of Monterey, California.

Stiff to the point of being just the safe side of intolerable on rutted terrain, the Z51 comes alive on smooth pavement. By contrast, the standard Corvette provides a ride that's almost luxury car plush with more wheel travel to soak up undulating terrain. Some buyers might call the Z51 “too much,” while others will argue that the standard car is “too soft.” That split personality is just what Chevrolet had in mind – yet what surprised us the most was how both configurations corner with limited lean, meaty steering feel and unflappable grip (up to 1.03 g's).

The tail lights are the only thing I don't like on these but the car as a whole is sick. Can't wait to see them on the roads

After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

The new Z06 engine is just an inch taller than the LT1 in the Corvette Stingray, and there are few more powerful inches in the world: the LT4 is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 producing "at least" 625 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque. The integrated 1.7-liter Eaton supercharger and intercooler sit in the engine's vee, that blower spinning beyond the ZR1's supercharger limit of 15,000 up to 20,000 rpm and utilizing shorter rotors to get up to speed more quickly. To keep gas mileage in check, you'll still benefit from Chevy's Active Fuel Management, as well as direct injection and variable valve timing. It's also been fitted with a dry-sump oil system that has a larger capacity than on the Stingray's Z51 package.

800-hp Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Unveiled Ahead of Barret-Jackson Scottsdale Debut

The 800-hp Yenko 2017 Chevrolet Corvette was unveiled earlier to a small group of media at an event held at the headquarters of Classic Industries, a Southern California-based purveyor of restoration and aftermarket parts for Chevrolet and Mopar muscle cars.

Built by Tom's River, New Jersey-based Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE), which uses the famous Yenko name under license, this car starts life out as a conventional Corvette Grand Sport. SVE then increases the LT-1 V-8s displacement from 6.2 liters to 6.8 (or 416 cubic inches, if you prefer Imperial units), replacing a number of the components in the process; SVE's version is fitted with a forged steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, and CNC ported and polished cylinder heads.

Topping things off, literally and figuratively, is a 2.9-liter twin-screw supercharger fed by the fuel system from the LT-4 V-8 found in the Corvette Z06. In all, SVE's creation is good for 800 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque — and can be had with both transmissions offered by Chevrolet in the Grand Sport, a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.

Aside from the engine, the rest of the Yenko modifications appear to be purely cosmetic. Yenko badges are added throughout the exterior, interior, and are even found on the brake calipers, just to make sure everyone knows it's a Yenko.

SVE will unveil the Yenko Corvette to the public at the 2017 Barret-Jackson Scottsdale sale. The package costs $46,000 on top of the cost of the Grand Sport itself. It can be had with the coupe or convertible, but just 50 will be built, so get your orders in to SVE now. Unless you live in California, in which case you're out of luck as this Yenko, unsurprisingly, does not meet the state's strict emissions regulations, most likely because SVE was unwilling to pay for CARB certification for such a small run of aftermarket engines.

Great looking package, but Yenko Corvette just doesn't move me.

I'd be excited if it were the Camaro, and HP/tourpe numbers would be identical since to the Corvette since the now share the same power plant.
