2013-2014 NBA Season Thread - Congrats to the Spurs, DBD is still a buster

Just last year, Forbes listed them at about $430M. The Knicks were #1 at $1.1B in terms of NBA teams.

I mean, I understand there is a lot value with the market and all. But, almost $2B for a team that's probably not even 3rd or 4th highest valued franchise in their own city? :lol Maybe my figures are just completely off, but I was thinking a fair sale would be around $800-900M (hell, maybe even $1B even). The Bucks sold for $550M, the Grizz sold for $350M.

I don't even understand how Milwaukee sold for $550M, when the Grizzlies only sold for $350M and Memphis is considered the more valuable franchise. :lol

I agree, $1 bill to even $1.5 bill sounds about right. But once a team in the second largest market in the country is for sale, then there is bound to be a competitive bidding war for it that will drive the price up.

It's to be expected.

tonight's gm is big. whoever wins, takes a 3-2 lead and a chance to close in gm 6

I would love to see how much the Lakers or Knicks would sell for. The 3rd ranked sports league in the world having teams go for $2B+. I can't imagine how much a large market MLB or NFL team would sell for.

collins has def been dipping into the rap

game before last nights he said "woulda, coulda, shoulda & i was waiting on him to finish @#$ &*( on his 2 chainz

we probably won't ever know because the Lakers and Knicks are family owned with zero interest in in selling at the moment

@ that resellers analogy.

Shelly Sterling should throw the "limited" tag on the Clippers to drive up the hype and price even more.

So, you're telling me that the Clippers are a top 5 most valuable sports franchise IN THE WORLD?

Man U's value is about $2.3B+ along with the Cowboys.

The Clippers are up there with Man U, Real Madrid, The Yankees, Lakers and Cowboys. Oh.

 I know right.

Buyer: what about the flopping? You didn't put that in the description

Sterling: You saw the games. You had 95 games worth of evidence, what more do you want me to show you? 2 Billion firm. I'm sure if you don't want them someone will.

Buyer: what about Big Baby? can you promise me he won't dance?

Sterling: minor issue, all you need is the amnesty clause and it's NDS

Buyer:

You also have to remember that these rich dudes bidding love being part of an exclusive clubs. To a certain extent they don't care what the teams so called 'worth' is. A billion to them is like $100 to an average person
