2012 Official NFL Fantasy Football Thread

Pick one:
Tony Romo at NYG or Jay Cutler at home v. Indy.
I'm leaning towards Cutler....better matchup and Chicago's offense should be decent this year with Forte, Bush, Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey, etc...

Cutler. Giants are known to give Romo problems.

Champ, thanks again.

I think im gonna lean towards Giants D/ST tonight even though the secondary is a lil banged up.

af1 1982: 7.5/10. Be careful on that Dallas bye week with Dez and Miles both out. Would drop Alex Smith for more RB and WR depth. If it's a two-QB start league, start Freeman as QB2. Smith to bench.

slowrolling: You could drop Fitzpatrick for Freeman. But Ryan is probably the safer QB2. Freeman has potential but then again Schiano will want to run the football a good amount. Let's wait and see.

KeyserSoze: I like Team 1 better than Team 2.

Cook over Fleener.

I'd drop Goodson, keep Taiwan Jones. Think Taiwan Jones should plant himself firmly as DMC's backup as season progresses.

JJs07: You can get away with Pierre as a RB2, but you badly need a RB1 to seriously contend for a fantasy championship. Try trading Jordy Nelson for a RB1.

Swade486: Do not make that trade. Brown and Moore both excellent mid-round value, but Cruz is a third-round pick. Not worth it. Watch Victor salsa his way to two TDs tonight against the Cowboys.

bxbadboy90: Coming off serious injury, Mendy is. In relation to Week 1, Mendy is a decent handcuff to Redman but nothing more. Dwyer could have more value as the Steelers backup by season's end.

diewitsjames: Do not accept Little for Tate. Nowhere near close.

Although I'm on record believing Tamme will have good numbers linking up with Peyton, I believe Meach is the more conventional play. Just a matter of time, how long it takes for him to develop chemistry with Rivers in SD.

No, start Ronnie Brown over MJD. Matthews is trying to rush back to play, but won't. MJD is a third-down back at best for Week 1 with rust.

theone218: I'd start Matty Ice. No Witten. I see NYG's pass-rush getting to Romo. That O-line is putrid.

Law Firm against Baltimore, still a tough run D match-up.

Buc Em: Hit the nail on the head about Floyd and why I'm not big on him. Untrustworthy. Still don't like that trade for you though. Unless you're getting the Floyd and Dickson side.

parada45: There's one setup already. Check recent pages of Sports Forum.

ImNacho: I'd start Redman and Tate for now. Ry Williams has to prove he can steal the job from Beanie. AP has training wheels on.

Mr Brown: I'd start Stevie even against Revis. Had success in one of their divisional match-ups last season. Think it was something like 6/85. I mean, trust your gut though. If you fear the Revis factor, go Wayne. Not a bad WR3 start.

presequel: Kevin Smith for me. Don't see Reggie posting like last year. Smith has no competition in the Detroit backfield at the moment.

SonOfTony: Blackmon is nowhere close for Doug Martin.

Easy, G-Men D by far.

EMkicks: Wallace.

DaBottom305: I'd rather have Marshall based on value than Fitz. Skelton is questionable. My meaning is you got Marshall later in the draft than Fitz's draft projection. Not necessarily that Marshall will outproduce Fitz head-to-head, which is still a possibility.

JordanXI45: Cutler for me.

Jacob Tamme vs. Pitt
or
Jared Cook vs. NE
?
Tough call. Could be a difficult decision week-by-week throughout the season.

I'll say Cook by a slight margin. He's a sleeper TE candidate. Locker will be forced to throw. TE a young QB's best friend.

This is my roster I drafted in my money league

10th pick ppr league. Who do I start in my flex position? Amendola, Brown, J. Rodgers, or McGahee???? feed back will be greatly apprectied. We also get points for return yards.

Hello All,

Got a trade offer this morning... wanted some feedback

I Get: Donald Brown and Lance Moore

I Give Up: Victor Cruz

I have Drew Brees as my QB, so I like the idea of "double" points for having Moore also.  I have Maclin, Garson, Heyward-Bey, Randy Moss at WR also, with Trent Richardson, Matt Forte, Peyton Hillis, and just picked up Jaquizz Rodgers on waivers for my RBs.

My gut is telling me no deal, because I feel Cruz will get way more targets than Moore having Colston and J. Graham as targets also.  And I feel like once Richardson is 100%, I wouldnt really need Brown because I would have Hillis and Rodgers as backups/Flex.

Any thoughts?
No bueno.. don't take that trade. I like Brown but Cruz is a WR1 in all formats. Both are just fillers IMO. Brown has a lot of upside though.

ChampCruThik.....yeah I'm the one getting Malcolm Floyd and Dickson, and trading away Jared Cook.

What if I trade him Pierre Garcon, Michael Bush (or Ben Tate), and Jared Cook for DeMarco Murray (or Bradshaw), and Eric Decker? I'm thinking he MIGHT accept that. That would give me....

Brady
McCoy
Murray (or Bradshaw)
McGahee
Fitz
Antonio Brown
Jimmy Graham
Bears D
Prater

Decker
Tate (or Bush)
Mike Williams
Kendall Wright
Ryan Williams
Greg Little
Dallas Clark

I'd gladly take Floyd and Dickson for Cook.

That second proposal is an even bigger steal in your favor. Garcon, Tate, and Cook for Murray and Decker. Do it, man.

That's a very lopsided trade IMO. If the guy gives you a 2nd and 6th RB2, WR3/4 rounder for 9th, 12th, and 13th  TE2/RB4/WR3 round grade guy you are very convincing.

Would you do it if I was getting Bradshaw (instead of Murray) and Decker? Gives me McCoy, Bradshaw, McGahee, Michael Bush and Ryan Williams at RB and Fitz, Antonio Brown, Decker, Mike Williams, Kendall Wright and Little at WR.

Yes, but try to get Murray first. Significantly better than Bradshaw. You win with either involved in the trade.

Would you trade Pierre Thomas/Kendall Hunter for Denarius Moore/Ryan Williams if you already have DHB?

My other RB's are McFadden, Forte, Donald Brown, & Taiwan Jones.

I would gladly take the Moore and Ry Williams side. I think Moore is better than DHB and Ford when injury-free. Ry could cook if he's the Arizona starter over Beanie. Could see that happening by Week 6.

champ, for week 1

choosing between D.jackson, miles austin, nate washington, and heyward-bey
for WR2 and Flex. i was thinking austin & washington?
(no RB, starting my RB3 with AP on the bench)

im FF newb so thanks

This is risky. Do with it what you will. I'd go Washington and DHB. Risky plays go DHB, Washington, DeSean, Miles.

But conventional wisdom is Miles and DeSean. Do that if you want to play it safe. Miles, DeSean, DHB, Washington in that order.

Thank you for your help :lol I don't know why I'm stressing bench players so hard.

Don't blame you one bit. Every little detail counts in the playoffs and contending for a championship. I usually like the mantra supporting and trusting your gut and intuition. Over-thinking usually is counterproductive instead of beneficial.

BUCEM:

I just depends what his roster looks like. It appears he need a TE. But TE's come a dime a dozen unless you have Graham,Gronk,. Most players know they are 5-6 points behind already if they are playing any of those guys. TE's are overrated and you can make up for those guys with better value players. Drafting the above guys means you are passing over guys like Charles/Bradshaw/Forte. It just depend how far people reach for the TE's.

It appears you need more value depth wise at WR and RB. I've away's been firm believer if the trade doesn't have the same amount of players on both end  1for1, 2for2, etc its not a fair trade.

I also like your back up TE Cook and Clark. You have no true RB2, just a bunch of handcuffs if someone goes down (Williams has huge upside). McGahee is a flex player at best. I would honestly try packaging Cook with a handcuff RB for RB3/RB4 like a Hillis/Brown/Wilson type of guy with upside.  It's no need to put dickson on your roster at this point. Then try packaging again for a better RB up grade.

I honestly love your team. You are certainly going to the playoffs with that roster.

So I know I went on a tangent. But I would need to look at his roster to determine what he actually gains from the trade
