If you guys are in the city, there's a bar called Playwright's on 49th between 7th ave and Broadway that shows PPV fights with no cover.

Other stuff going on in boxing.

LAS VEGAS -- The focus of the boxing world is, of course, on the MGM Grand for the Victor Ortiz-Floyd Mayweather Jr. HBO PPV card on Saturday night, but there are other things going on in the biz. Here's what I've been hearing the past few days:

• Disgruntled junior welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley Jr. has been idle since his January win against Devon Alexander, after which he turned down a unification fight with Amir Khan for 50-50 terms. He has been mired in a legal dispute with co-promoters Gary Shaw and Ken Thompson since then. However, settlement talks between the lawyers for the fighter and promoters have been hot and heavy. If they reach an agreement -- which I expect, even though multiple sources involved have told me they are still quite a bit apart on the amount of money the promoters would receive to walk away -- Bradley is headed for Top Rank. Top Rank's plan is for Bradley to return Nov. 12 on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez HBO PPV undercard. Obviously, Top Rank would be prepping Bradley for a possible shot at Pacquiao if a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather doesn't come off.

• Golden Boy announced it has signed former two-division titlist Humberto Soto, who has moved up to junior welterweight. There is a chance Soto could open a Nov. 5 HBO "Boxing After Dark" card in Cancun, Mexico. However, it's touch-and-go because Soto suffered a cut in a recent fight and might not be ready. The main event is slated to be Alfredo "Perro" Angulo against James Kirkland in a junior middleweight fight that could be as explosive as anything you've ever seen. Vanes Martirosyan was the first choice to face Angulo, but Martirosyan rejected an offer to face Angulo in a title eliminator. Angulo and Kirkland have agreed to fight and Golden Boy is ready to do it, but Golden Boy's Richard Schaefer and HBO's Kery Davis are still apart on the money. They're not too far apart, but far enough that it's not yet a done deal. My feeling is it will get done.

• Promoter Dan Goossen told me heavyweight contender Cristobal Arreola won't fight on the Oct. 29 Ward-Froch undercard, as originally discussed. Instead, Arreola, a Mexican-American, will fight his first professional bout in Mexico on a Nov. 5 card Goossen is working on with Mexican network Televisa. Arreola's opponent is TBA.

• Top Rank's Bob Arum and Goossen made a deal for the mandatory junior featherweight bout between titlist Rico Ramos, who is with Goossen, and interim titleholder Guillermo Rigondeaux, who is with Top Rank. The fight will take place Dec. 3 on the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito II HBO PPV undercard. Welterweight contender Mike Jones is also ticketed for the televised undercard.

• Showtime formally announced it has added same-day taped coverage of Robert Stieglitz's super middleweight title defense against Mikkel Kessler from Copenhagen, Denmark, to its Nov. 5 telecast headlined by super middleweight titlist Lucian Bute's defense against Glen Johnson in Quebec City. This doesn't come as a surprise, but it means Showtime will air all four 168-pound titleholders in the span of a week: The Nov. 5 bouts will follow the Oct. 29 Super Six final between titleholders Andre Ward and Carl Froch.

• According to Zanfer Promotions, Giovani Segura, the former junior flyweight champ who has moved up to flyweight, hurt his hand hitting pads this week, which is why he dropped off Thursday night's Azteca America card in Rosarito, Mexico.

• The little guy is back. Former strawweight and junior flyweight champ Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon is moving back down to strawweight to face former titlist Raul Garcia of Mexico for a vacant interim belt on Oct. 29 in Calderon's native Puerto Rico. The fight will be Calderon's first since Segura knocked him out in the third round of their rematch last November.

• Top Rank made bantamweight champ Nonito Donaire's defense against junior bantamweight titlist Omar Narvaez official for Oct. 22. They will meet at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. Tickets went on sale Thursday via the Garden box office and Ticketmaster. Prices are $200, $100, $50 and $25.

• According to Warriors Boxing promoter Leon Margules, the deal is done for cruiserweight titlist Krzysztof Wlodarczyk of Poland to defend against popular Australian fighter Danny Green, who is coming off a loss to Antonio Tarver. Wlodarczyk-Green will take place Nov. 30 in Perth, Australia, Green's hometown.
