It's all relative, cuzzo. What people fail to realize is, Detroit is BY FAR the most populated city on the list the OP put up behind Philly. Like I thinkthe next highest was 600 or so thousand.
We have (well, should I say "y'all" since I moved away?) over 900K people. And yet somehow, we're Top 5 Every year. We have more evacueesevery year than post-Katrina New Orleans. We're the only city to have LOST a Million people. This isn't a surprise at all... I watched a HELLUVAdocumentary on The D a while back, I'll have to pass it along. It was on Google Videos. Check it out if you get a chance. I think it was called"Murder City" or something. Real shh right there.
Anyway, I was saying it's all relative because you don't really think about it when you're there. I was born and raised in The D and NEVER thoughtabout how bad it was until I went to Boston and was bout to nut up on a dude in the subway for some dumb mess, and my cuz looked at me like I was a heathenchild pissin on the Bible. I realized we are completely desensitized to it until we move away and look at it from outside. It's crazy. I log on FaceBookand see at LEAST one RIP from somebody at the Crib a day. At LEAST one...
What's even crazier? My next two cities of residence were Atlanta, GA (16) and now Baltimore, MD (12). My Aunt and Uncle live in Cleveland (11), The famoriginated in Birmingham (
and Nawlins (1), and now live in Detroit (3), St. Louis (4) and Philly (22). I guess we just some hood seeking FF-Ups, eh? Tuh...
