people subconsciously loving this little engine that could, scrappy crap that's not getting rings. A good SG will get us back to the ECF's but that won't be enough. Dominant bigs get you RINGS unless you're MJ and Scottie, and it will the be only way to consistently beat miami, and NY if they manage to get paul to go along with melo and amare.

Who said anything about them locking them up?  No one, I Repeat NO ONE is locking up either of those players, but who's played better defense on each of them than Lu has in the last few yrs when he's been healthy?  So basically what you're saying is you're willing to give up an entire front line and our 2 draft picks for Dwight, so you're willing to do what the Knicks are getting fried for right now? Nice to know where you stand.
well they're not taking Boozer, so as much as I don't like him as a player, he's going to be here, again Deng, Noah, and Gibson are replaceable, Deng would be the more difficult to replace of the three, but for long term gain, having a 23yr old MVP, and a 26 yr DPOY on your team doesn't come around often, we would two of biggest, most important pieces to build around having the best PG, and the best C, we could build around that and if we somehow got Jrich, we're ok at guard for 2-3yrs, I know we would have to take that hedo contract but it has the same amount of years left as Deng's I think, or it maybe just 2yrs left on that deal. having a team of

PG-rose
SG-richardson
SF-Turk
PF-Bass
C-Howard
isn't too bad, we would just need to boost our front line depth a bit but we would overall be ok, I would rather have big contracts tied up in two legit superstars, than one superstar, and 3 overpaid role players, but if I'm wrong about this season and we find someway to win, I'll gladly take that one for the team

So essentially you feel as though if you place Pooh on the current Orlando squad they're good enough to win a chip. Interesting.  Not saying I disagree, Not Saying I Don't

That lineup looks good on paper, but the reality of it I don't see that working.  I don't even think the Bulls will make a push for Howard as Orlando will want Taj, Deng, Noah, and of course that 1st rounder.  That's alot for Howard and Turk.

The Bulls are a potential championship team for the 2011-12 season. But they’ll be fortunate to win 50 games

And maybe not that many early in a brutal stretch of 30 games in 50 nights, the Frightening Fifty days. It will include seven of the first nine on the road, 19 games in January and a nine games in 12 days stretch.

The key for the Bulls will be surviving that first 30 games with 20 of them on the road, 10 back to backs with one three in three nights stretch in that and all in 50 days. In that brutal stretch, the Bulls will play in Boston twice and in Los Angeles against the Clippers and Lakers, in Miami, Orlando and New York.

So perhaps for any team it would be important for the Bulls to have a group coming into camp in good shape and ready to go quickly. Veterans of 1998-99 lockout season, which was just 50 games, will tell you it was important to get a quick start as it was more sprint than the usual marathon. Though Tom Thibodeau’s Knicks (not exactly called that by everyone then) opened slowly with injuries and just barely qualified for the playoffs with a 6-2 finish after falling to .500.

But they went on to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Spurs. The Spurs, also, were just 8-8 to open. But they went on to a 37-13 mark, which tied for best in the league. If the Bulls play at the same pace this season, it would give them 49 wins.

this year will be all about the best bench imo, playing all these games in a short time will be hard for even the most seasoned nba player

This.  Which is why I'm not to keen on selling the farm for Dwight.  I mean I understand but still...

I feel like a lot of the teams looking to make moves for stars right now (aside from last year's final

are just trying to grab guys while there are fire sales going on and doing so with their minds on the 2012-13 season though.

18 days and counting! I Bart Scott!

I'm not crazy about the Crawford/Brewer swap. The only good in it is that Thibs could probably hide JC in the defense as not to be exposed too much.

If that were true about JR on New Years Day, please leak it to GarPax so they don't mortgage the future for Howard. I really believe all that we need is the 2 spot covered.

If healthy, Noah will be an all-star. Could say the same for Booz if he gives us that 20-10 he was signed for. Deng won't likely get, but will deserve it for guarding the best perimeter player, especially with this schedule.

We made it all the way to the ECF and lost b/c....1) Booz was damn near non-existent 2)Rose made mistakes while being guarded by Bron 3) no consistent second scorer (our 2 and Deng gotta step up when Booz is MIA)

I don't expect those to be factors again given we get the "right" 2 and Booz and Deng stay healthy

Thanks YBD for posting schedule, I posted on first page as well

Yeh, like I said all along, all we need is a decent 2 that can create, the whole Dwight Howard mumbo jumbo was too much, we were too close last year to break the team up for 1 player. No matter how good he is.

DO IT REISENDORF! The combination of Rose and Smith would be awesome! Can you imagine the UC rocking and you got Noah and JR...if Rose dunk somebody the roof might be blown off

As Caron Butler completes his personal tour of NBA suitors, the Chicago Bulls remain the team to beat for him, league sources said.

Butler left his meeting with the Bulls earlier this week with a deep appreciation for coach Tom Thibodeau, sources said. Butler’s willingness to possibly take less money from a championship contender is made easier with his personal business holdings.

Butler, 31, has also met with the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and New Jersey Nets this week. The Clippers and Nets have room underneath the salary cap to offer Butler more than the $5 million midlevel exception.
The Bulls can offer up to the full midlevel. The Spurs also will have the full midlevel to spend once they use their amnesty clause to waive Richard Jefferson and the three years and $30.5 million he has left on his contract.

Butler has been the Spurs’ primary target, but team officials have been speaking with agents about a number of different options to fill their pending small forward vacancy. Washington Wizards forward Josh Howard also visited the Spurs this week and met with coach Gregg Popovich and general manager R.C. Buford.

The Spurs have inquired about Mike Dunleavy as a short-term replacement. Rookie Kawhi Leonard also can play the position.

Washington would like to re-sign Howard, who met with Wizards coach Flip Saunders Wednesday at the team’s practice facility. But the chance to play for a contending team could be difficult for Howard to overlook. Howard, 31, has also spoken by phone with Thibodeau and Bulls assistant Randy Brown and plans to speak with Nets coach Avery Johnson, who coached him in Dallas. The Utah Jazz also have expressed interest in Howard.

See... I need this nuttiness here at the crib.

Shane to the Heat

C'mon GarPax dont mess this up.

Its almost sad at the lack of confidence i have in our FO

Damn thats a good move by the Heat, another defensive monster on the perimeter. I wouldn't have thought Shane would go play there, but it's that ring I guess.

We need a homerun this summer. The right move and we don't have to do nothing else but play.

Fixed.  I would like to think signing Caron and trading for Jamal would definitely be a few steps in the right direction.

I don't see how those acquisition of Caron who hasn't played a single game and who no one even knows if he can jump let alone move laterally is a step in the right direction but alright.

that kid is crazy! Let's sign him up...Jerry needs to gas up the jet and head to China...pay the fine and bring him back....we eating!
