No doubt. I was there from 03 to 07 and lived in Slowe, so there were plenty of robberies that happened to peeps. Never to me but I knew a lot of the local guys, but man that was a great time of my life.
Yea but not as bad compared to 2008 and before, but great seeing a fellow alum on here.
youre one of those people included in on those news stories that make us allQuick story. At 1am this morning, I drove 2hrs out of town to a neighboring city to try and get guaranteed tickets. Finishline was giving them out at 7, we were to line up at 6am. There was a turn out of 600 people for less than 200 shoes. The police formed a crappy line. Everybody started pushing and the cops let loose with the mace. It was a stampede and I felt like Simba. I hit the deck and nearly vomited. My face was on fire and my lips were numb. This one chick actually was vomiting. I get a footprint on my hat from getting my head stepped on. I cover up my face and jump back in line. Cops let off again and started macing. I try to run and fall off the curb and twist my ankle. They ended up closing down the event altogether and made everybody leave.
About 100 of us were smart enough to understand they just wanted to thin out the large crowd so we waited. Cops let us line up again. I was like #6. Got pushed back to about #45. Long story short, I got my guaranteed ticket for a size 12.
Absolute madness...
You must have known jrock and them lol

This that sheisty business....
I think with all the mass hysteria it may take a while but they're (companies) going to have to come up with an organized way of doing this. We all get there is money to be made and these companies have people on their teams that can come up with other ways to get the products to the customers. I understand camping out is part of the culture but as you can clearly see its not fun nor safe anymore. I just hope they come up with the solution sooner than later. Nike has the technology to take online requests for items and randomly select who will receive items until stock is depleted. Because I'm on a computer all day long issues like the sites crashing and bottle-necking intrigue me. There are ways to get around this they just have to actively follow thru.
wouldn't screw up bots, because there are two pieces two Nike. Nike sends the shoes to the retailers, and NDC is a retailer that Nike owns. Means that NDC would still get stock, and the bots would still be there.Yes and doing this once a year for XI which are basically Nikes biggest release would help cut down on:
-Bots
-Resellers
-Crime (murders, robberies, etc.)
-Rigged raffles
-Shoe store employees/managers making money under the table
It would screw over mom and pop stores but at this point the benefits still outweigh the costs.
I honestly hope they experiment with that logic.Yes and doing this once a year for XI which are basically Nikes biggest release would help cut down on:

so today is the day everyone get calls, hoping to get a call!

If that's the case, glad my '09s still look good so I can skip this madness. Happen to be wearing them right now at work.Yeah, now imagine how crazy it will be if they release Space Jams next year...
I honestly hope they experiment with that logic.

Thats ugly. Now he has to explain his dismal numbers to the regional manager. I went to the mall to pick up my ticket earlier this week and they told me they were open until 11pm. I told them I'd say an extra prayer for them....Naw they got a military manager that goes by the book. He done told everybody they doing raffle tomorrow, now he losing his mind because people are still there. About 50, but the store is losing money because they should have already open 2 hours ago but its been choas since 3am from what i heard
I honestly can see niketowns setting up online raffles for each store, same with footlocker and their affiliate stores. The managers and employees are gonna cry when that day comes because they wont be mr cool anymore lmao.
Not from Cali, but i see the store sheikh has a pretty good online raffle system, am i correct?
Yes. This can be curbed if they really want to do it.Yes and doing this once a year for XI which are basically Nikes biggest release would help cut down on:

That logic would eliminate craziness and violence but would do nothing to improve fairness or deal with bots.
I honestly hope they experiment with that logic.
And that's only because it's bad PR to have people being shot because of how you release your product. It's really screwed up how companies refuses to take responsibility and look out for it's customers until it affects them.Honestly, as I said before, it'll take something really tragic come Saturday before Nike changes the process.
2009 space jams were garbage.
