What's the point of stores any more? It's not like you can try on the shoes now. Nike might as well just start selling all their 11s online for 250 from now on. Cut out both the middle men. Every year its the same deal. I did great on the retro 88 release. Online only gives me a much better chance than camping for days and ridiculous raffles.
I understand where you're coming from, but for retailers, store fronts serve a huge purpose. The majority of consumers still prefer to purchase items instore rather than online. Not only that, but releasing these in stores brings traffic into the retailers and that helps push other products such as shirts, socks, hats, bags, etc. You'd be amazed at how many people will walk into a store to cop the last Jordans, find out they're sold out, and end up walking out with something that they didn't intend to purchase. There is no way Nike (or any other major retailer) will stop selling Jordans in stores.
