I forget how god awful the sole on the 2001 pair is.

For blue sole they just need to use the gamma soles IMO, but with that said I prefer a hazy blue sole since they last longer without yellowing.

I would say the only worse sole combo was this mess. 2010 Cool Greys with icy blue...why JB why? Couldn't put the original sole or the ones on SJs.

I plan to wear mine to death. Nice summer shoe. So the upper looks as beat as the sole. The new soles seem more resistant to discoloration.

Yeah honestly after seeing those the 2014 are looking a lot closer to the OG. But honestly like myself I'm sure many of us are just going to let then yellow anyways. I've always loved these with that yellow sole.

If you wear them out the yellow soles look normal. To my they look abnormal on a pair of fresh uppers on old DS pairs.

"character" is the excuse people use the most when it comes to this shoe. The "character" was never intentional, it's just how it works.

I have OGs, 2001 pairs and they are suffering from this "character" ... The only thing it makes me want to do is get 3 to 4 pairs of the 2014 pair so I can put those characters to rest. I just hope the anti-yellowing process is improved over 2001/1996 pairs. Either way, I'm just happy the Columbias are back.

They definitely the columbia. The only difference is it having a different type of blue like any retro would do. It's just like the snake skin lows remember the first time they came out they were in blue? Now they're green tho the name still is the same of being "snakeskin". These have the "legend blue" name and they're not OGs for these are retro of the columbia with a retro touch on it. I'm new on niketalk and i'm really enjoying the threads

yes these are columbias
of course they will look different than the OGs, they came out 18 years ago. if they looked the same it would be a problem

The shape and overall build quality of the OG's a few posts up looks so good.

The shoes just looks so thick and sturdy compared to the 2001's

I never had the OG's but I still have the 2001's and they are not Columbia's anymore they are khaki colored

I was telling me that when Jordan Brand made GAMMAS they made 700k plus pairs...

and People were insane …even doe they were sold everywhere

I had to sell the retro cool greys I just couldn't like them

Still have to originals..the gum color it turned on one looks great and the others still clear..

Actually recently copped the icy pair for 150 cash lol and dude threw in sone og last shots for 90..

I won.. He wasnt into j's he just had them lol

LMAO yall are trippin right? nobody cried about 00 concords without the tint but with the columbias its horrible now? wow you guys base a shoe on its ability to resemble an OG but dont care about quality? how can these 14s get a higher vote of confidence than the 01s? yes the sole was clear but quality was much better and it made them different than the OGs and these are different than every columbia release. So with that being said id assume you would cop the 2014s over the 01s if they were both offered DS for the same price? smh keep lying to yourself on that one, seems as though you guys are really trying to hype this shoe up when A) it doesnt need help being hyped and B) they arent that amazing to begin with. am i the only one who doesnt like ANY of the post 2010 XIs? i cant be.

lol so tired of seeing all these posts about the sole color. Whether they light blue, ice blue, clear or whatever all yall still copping 2x lol to wear resale or collect. Really doesn't make me any difference I'll likely cop one pair but will be more hyped bout all blue 11s dropping right before these. SJs and Breds > colomibia/these IMO
