🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Drake & PND Album Fall 2024

Has Roy Woods given him any? Only song I can think of is Drama, but that's Woods' song.
Not that I know of, but he's a new artist on the label.

Will be interesting to see the credits for when Views come out. I'm willing to bet he too gave some records for views. Whether they make the album or not is another story, but given his past track record with his artist, I think we'll see Roy in some form on Views.

I just never understood why Torey Lanez named himself after a porn star... Granted, a well respected porn star with an extensive catalogue, but...

Remember when Drake was first coming up and it was stated that he always had bars in notebooks, then in the blackberries? What happened to that Drake? It's not like he's smoking himself outta bars like Wayne did, right? :smh:

That's what I thought when the ghostwriter thing came out. Son must be running outta ideas.

Or maybe he's not good at this one liner style of rap that is present on Summer Sixteen and the majority of IYRTITL.

I think he just doesn't feel like it, honestly. It's like when Kanye said he doesn't feel like making a whole beat from scratch anymore. Like...he's not going to sit in from of an MPC for hours and do it. He has other **** to do.

I feel like Drake is on the same with writing certain things.

Sumer Sixteen:

Beat = Nice

Bars = Buns

I really hope this isn't an indicator of what Views is going to sound like because that song is a straight up throwaway.

Also, he definitely took a shot at The Weeknd.

I think Drake COULD write, but is looking for more impactful records than just rap records, if that makes sense...this is where the writers come in

Summer Sixteen is pretty nice. Chose to listen to it today cause I'm sure since its release, this thread jumped 15 pages with stans claiming Views is already a top 10 rap album in history, and haters slandering it without actually listening.

boys also said they didn't like hotline bling and we all saw how that turned out

I'll just sit back and watch the turn

IMO- drakes best album was IIYRTITL. That album made him hot to a lot of people who weren't messing with him. He subject-flow- content is vastly different than anything he released before. I know this because after I heard IYARTITL, I went and listened to sons discography, trash.

Then the stories of ghost writing came out- and everything made sense.

Anyway, I was practically born and raised in Toronto. I have never heard Toronto referenced to as "the 6". However that has now stuck.

Everything before "If Your Reading This" is trash???

Or maybe it's just easier to let somebody else write it and u just perform it. The people will treat it all the same.

Dam I just heard war pain too. Dam. That was hard. Haha

This is some funny things. Just a quick footnote as to how they value social media - what makes this a w in the beef other then being a good song-beat, is he dropped it a minute after and that's what the "internet" uses. So to say he didn't recognize the memes and all that is a joke.

Pretty much!! I just have a hard time believing that he actually never used writers from day one. Everything he does
from now on IMO is subject to criticism. But like the poster mentioned maybe he's not strong at one liner bars that
have impact in clubs etc. Maybe tons of people are actually just giving him verses and hes picking and choosing and
just building a quality song. Summer Sixteen is dope IMO, from the beat to the direct not over the top bars.

I'm pretty sure this is a sample of "Views", it's a perfect combination of hitting the fans with what they want and not really
going over their heads. As long at the beats have up tempo "Know yourself" type of vibe and throw in that R&B twist on
it's a win.

Meek is starting to play chess in this whole beef thing, but people act like he's not about to be in jail for another 6 months. :smh:

not necessarily. after the last reaction he got it probably sobered him up and he knew what he had to do.

nobody saw what happened coming.

but to see the reaction after war pain is interesting. it lets me know that you can't write anybody off in this day and age. all it takes is a decent song and social media for the tide to change. he should stay the hell away from ig and twitter and let the ppl talk and get bars ready for the next round if this goes on. depending on drakes response and the reaction his next move might need to be to leave it alone.

he also has to get ready for whatever 50 releases depending on the reaction on the net.

yeah and that sucks. no way he doesn't go back to jail for a lil bit. they keep ******* with him and he keeps messing up and letting them.

if i were him i wouldn't even release dc4 as a mixtape. i'd save it til around drake's release. this ep thing is mad smart. wouldn't release another until 50 and drake released their next ****. i'd play chess all the way til i got locked up again.

I mean are we really banking on a 50 track? If so cool but it's been how long now? And nobody said a peep. When Meek let out the whole ghostwriting rant Drake was on the clock. Meek fans were saying he was scared to respond, somebody writing something up for him. After charged up meek was on the clock and we know how that went. 50 gets a pass to start f meek mill chants at concerts where people pay to see him, like it means anything [emoji]128514[/emoji].
