The hang tangs on the 14's were awful anyway. Plus, who is actually going to wear the shoes with it on anyway? The new hang tags are cheap and thin unlike the g go hang tags.

The hang tags are the same as the OG ones. The thicker rubber encased ones didn't come out until later.

The '08 retro used "Tart" orange... while these used "Orange Burst".  The OGs were "Orange Burst" if I'm not mistaken.

The blue was "Clay Blue" on '08, '14 and, I believe, OG... but it could been Copen Blue... Can someone confirm?

The og's were always referred to as the "tarts". I can't remember what the description was on the box though.

Actually, I wasn't sure cuz I don't have a pic of the OG box or catalog.  Just going by this apparel catalog pic.

You are correct 3/4 was in reference to the height it was the same deal with the Nike Trainer SC II which came in a 3/4 and a low too. BTW here is the OG Nike catalog with the tech line

Also here is the original thread from the last Tech Challenge retro

Maybe Tre can find out for us?

Just to satisfy my curiosity...

not true

my original pair of nike air tech challenge ii's that i purchased in 1990 came with the 'jumbo' or thicker nike air hang tag

the tag you see in the pic is the actual original tag that came with the shoes...
...now...i have noticed (on the atscii for instance) that nike gave a different tag to the high & the low (thin for one, jumbo for the other)
(some models like the aj4 i've seen with both tags depending on production date i believe)

but i believe with the original atcii - both the high & the low came with the jumbo tag...

Finally tho - the thin tag came first, not the jumbo - the thin tags came with 1987 models like the air max & air trainer as well as 1988 models like the air jordan 3

so these atcii retros should have come with the jumbo tags not the thin
but nike started messin it up on other retro models years ago

if you copped a pair of 88 wc 3's - they incorrectly came with the jumbo tag as these atcii's came incorrectly with the thin tag

you could switch the tags out & they'd be true to original

welcome

@green rhino123   That's awesome that you still have your original pair. Definitely makes me wish I had kept some of mine from that era. Thanks for the knowledge about the tags; I just remember being fascinated by the Nike Air hang tags as a kid, especially the jumbo ones. I remember thinking that I needed to get some sneakers with the thick hang tag since that must have meant they were the top of the line. Most of the time it was a pipe dream because of the prices until I got a bit older.

this was me as well, I remember looking enviously at my brothers hang tags while I was still wearing GS sizes.
What also really upset me was ordering a pair of retro 3 88's from NDC and they were missing the hang tag!
View media item 869115I recently picked up the lava's from UI for below uk retail which was nice. I really want the Aussie opens, but I can't find at a price I'm willing to pay
