🍎 OFFICIAL NEW YORK METS THREAD 🍎: Juan Soto Brings The BOOM To FLUSHING

Score nine runs in a game, you shouldn't lose. The pitching yet again loses another game. Sandy's mess.

They're playing shorthanded on a daily basis and it's catching up to them. All the positive vibes from the last two weeks winning series went away.

Starters not going more than 5 innings, an overused pen without a closer. I'm amazed they're hovering around .500. Offense has been doing their job lately.

Only thing they have going for them is the NL is pretty weak. .500 will probably be enough for a wild card. (They need to be healthy though)

Im hoping we get that wild card and by that time our pitching staff will be healthy and we can go in.

Harvey crapping out, bullpen is crap. We need help. Lets make some trades Sandy.

The season is still early. Its actually good all this is happening now. With everything going on, hovering around .500 is a positive.

Looking forward to not seeing Grandy and Duda in the lineup, just waiting for it.

Wheeler battled, nice to see him pitching well.

If we're under .500 at the deadline we need to move Grandy, Duda, Bruce, Walker and Cabrera. Team needs to get younger.

The bullpen does it again. Amazin'. If they performed decently, they're over .500. Only thing keeping the Mets in it is that baseball as a whole is pretty damn bad this year.

Grandy needs to bench himself.  I know that's frowned upon as a professional in the "traditional" sense, but let's let the old ways die!  I would applaud him!  1st stage to recovery is what?  accepting you have a problem?

Still early though

from mets.com

"Mets starters have gone 15 straight games without recording an out in the seventh inning, forcing their relievers to throw an average of 3.8 innings per game over that stretch. Their 57 1/3 innings in that span rank as the second most in the National League, while their 3.05 opponents' batting average and 7.38 ERA are both worst."

Don't care how bad the rest of the NL is this year. These injuries have killed our season. Long summer in queens.

Losing Familia was the nail in the coffin.

Mets are scoring runs, they just don't have the pitching

I think the opposite, losing the same pitcher who's lost games for us in 2 straight post-seasons and already gave up a lot of walks this season, could be a blessing in disguise.

Im almost ready to hit the reset button and wait for next season, but we still have a lot of time left.

If mgmt has to make some moves, players get healthy and we continue to mash, we can sneak into the post-season with the wild card and come back with a strong roster.

The team is hitting and not pitching when the pitching was supposed to be our strength.

I'm not a big Familia fan, but losing your closer in an already thin pen just solidifies the end of the season imo, especially when starters can''t even get to 5 innings. As inconsistent as he is he is extremely important.

Offense can be a lot better once Grandy/Reyes/d'arnaud are gone. Dead weight at this point, ready for guys from the minors to come up and improve this defense. Could probably add Duda to that list, guy gets hot for a week and stinks for a month.
