He's a good NBA player and can contribute to a good team but the fact that he was making almost $30m is insane. Also, the fact that he is hearing pictures from teams about what they can offer him as opposed to him speaking to teams about what he can offer them is insane.

What are you unsure about? No need to mention his defense because that being poor is a given. He’s there for spacing and his elite shooting. He’s having a down year from 3 by his standards and is still at 38% (last year he was 45%). I think he’ll be fine too and not further regress like Davis Bertans. Riles would have traded him, and Herro as well tbh, if he felt that was a real possibility that these dudes would stall out.
I think both are great but ultimately, I could see them going with the former female player over the male and it makes a lot of sense IMO.

Cmon, man. He’s not saying they are going to come in an dominate but rather make a difference to a true contender like LAL, LAC, MIA, BKN.You’re a Lakers fan so you should get what he means. He’s talking about the Dwight or Javale type role which was critical for the Lakers last year at certain points in the playoffs. I think that’s really what he meant.
I also don’t think the tours/pitches thing is that crazy either. It’s a rare opportunity to tangibly improve your roster in the middle of the season without relinquishing any assets. I feel like teams are fairly certain what the buyout player is capable of and how they’ll use said player in their rotation. Couple that with the market for players being so limited, teams lowkey do have to sell their franchise/market to the buyout player. It’s not like free agency where you have backup options if you strikeout.
I do think meeting with teams like the Hornets, Knicks and perhaps even Celtics is silly if you’re looking to win a championship this season (which I imagine is why you sought a buyout in the first place - to join a true contender)
