Rooney hasn't been in form since Jesus was a boy. I can quote tons of posts from the past 2 years with United fans *****ing about Rooney's performance. And Costa has looked very lackluster. As for Aguero, I feel that if both him and Sturridge had an injury free season and were on a equally talented team, Sturridge could be just as good and if not, better. Look at the 2013/14 season. Sturridge and Aguero both had 28 goals a piece, but Aguero was on the better team. Then again, I should expect this cause some of y'all were the same ones to say Bale was better than Suarez when the argument was brought up a few seasons back. Now y'all slobbing all over him.

He was in form at the beginning of this year before missing over a month but yea agreed sadly :\. On the bright side,he's only 5 or 6 goals away from Sir Bobby's club record if I'm not mistaken.

I'm up cause I'm sick, but NBC Sports is showing this amazing special on Leicester City. Show is "Premier League" download? "The Leicester City Story" ...(Maybe I'm late?)


1) Had no idea Leicester were that close to being relegated last season.
2) Had no idea they fired their manager after that epic comeback last season. (Didn't know Rinieri was manager until like January btw )
3) Drinkwater and Fuchs are cool last names
4) Jamie Vardy has a cool story
5) Claudio Renieri, real humble dude. I've always liked him.

They were at the bottom of the table at new years last year iirc,there's a comparison of this year and last year around new years with them being in 1st place a year after being last at the same point...truly incredible.

@HEGGSY was ecstatic when they got away from the drop zone and secured another season in the top flight. I can only imagine all the emotions and feelings this time around

Drinkwater has probably earned himself a Euro spot.

There's so many great stories on that team man,from Mahrez and Schmeichel to Morgan and Vardy. A movie should and probably will happen for sure. There's really no other comparable sports "underdog" story to this over the last few decades imo. It might just be the greatest story I've ever had the privilege to witness in sports if they can only manage to get 9 points out of the last 5...

I remember Heggsy being happy and celebrating Leicester not being relegated. I just didn't know Leicester made an epic comeback.

Like I'm not paying attention to teams avoiding relegation but I remember congratulating Heggsy for it last year.

But yea, this Leicester story has SO MANY subplots. Really is amazing.



While Wenger is still out here taking Arsenal hostage and not winning an EPL title in 12 years they should make an episode on Wenger and Arsenal called "I'm Never Leaving"

The day after Suarez left. Sturridge became the best forward on his team.

There was a period where Sturridge was fit, and was insane. Banging them in for fun, and everyone could see if it wasn't for injury, he'd be in another world. He's not like Vardy (Sorry, Heggsy) who's just having a great run. Upon return from injury, Sturridge consistently lights it up. You can see it's his body that's holding him back. Extremely talented player, and I don't see a better forward than him besides Aguero.

Aguero is still King, and will be for the foreseeable future.

I was just about to click "reply", and saw something about choosing Kane and Lukaku over Sturridge? Is that a fully fit Sturridge or just the injury dampened Sturridge. Cause if you believe Lukaku is near a fully fit Sturridge, my man, I don't eem know what to tell ya

Right after they fired Pearson. I remember @HEGGSY was gutted after how well he'd done for the club, bringing them up from the Championship. a few weeks into Claudio's run, all was forgiven and forgotten.

They pulled off the great escape with relegation last year, had all those scandals like the Asian escorts and video saga with Pearson's own son, sacked their manager and we're going into what looked like another great escape mission. Somehow that turned into probably the greatest footballing story in modern football's history.

What Leicester City has done, it's unprecedented, may never happen again. But I can bring up an occasion thats just as similar from the Portuguese league... @HEGGSY or for anyone else...


Late 90's and early 00's, Boavista Football Clube had amazing teams (which Porto, Benfica, and Sporting eventually poached). They were the first team ever outside of the "Big Three Clubs" to win a Portuguese title. Think about that for a second, it's always been Porto, Benfica, and/or Sporting winning the title for like 80 plus years.

Since then they've been in the second and third division after selling all of their players (hopefully Leicester don't do follow suit).

Thats a pretty good cinderella story also. I remember during that time being a kid, I didn't understand how historical their run was. I just loved their jerseys. So cheers to Boavista aka The Black Panthers aka The checkerboards. They're based out of Porto btw, Boavista is a section of the city.

See that's what I don't like about that "best player in the league" story. Cause when I look at Leicester for instance. Many will say Vardy, most will say Mahrez (I saw this from a Sky/Opta Poll) but to me, Kante was outrageously influential in so many of the formers goals. Or at Barca when people would talk about Neymar, but forgetting Busquets or Iniesta was the reason the bulk of those forward plays even started. Players have different roles, and it's hard to directly compare against different roles. And I guess that's what pissed me off about Ballon d'Or, Neuer was INSANE a season or two ago, completely redefining the position, won everything, and was easily to me the best player on the pitch (his stats were crazy that season), yet zero recognition at the big stage.

For me, Sturridge is top 2 fit forward in the league. The on and off the ball movement, the quality of the finish, the assists, and the range of goals he scores does it for me.

Lukaku needs work. Great player, but his touch is often letting him down. He's getting better. They say that a strikers peak is around 28-29. So he's still got way more than enough time to reach his peak.

Kane, looked like a one hit wonder, but came out of the gates swinging and proved doubters wrong. He too has all of the right tools, and right now the system that they're playing, plays to his strengths.

They won't have to with the new TV deal. Their struggle is going to be improving the squad, keeping the balance and investing in the right players for top tier performances and squad rotational players.

Yea, they should be fine. The money flows deep in the EPL unlike the Portuguese League, especially in 2001.

But you never know, 50 million Sterliing for a Vardy or Mahrez could be tempting if one of those players want to leave. Hope they keep their squad tho.
