Seeing a ton of news outlets citing the sun for Eriksen to RM in January but I can’t find the OG source from the sun anywhere, which makes me think it’s made up

This isn’t footy related but life related....

With the rise of Far-Right politicians winning elections all throughout Europe/World (Spain, Italy, Hungry, Brazil, etc) since Trumptard was elected....

Portugal’s Socialist Liberal President was re-elected in a LAND SLIDE. His far-right opponent forfeited in disgrace. We remain one of the few countries in Europe with a Leftist President.

Proud of my country for setting a standard and not getting brainwashed by the Right. Proud day to be Portuguese....?? ??

Things like this back up statements that you and I make about how Portuguese people are the most friendly and welcoming in Europe overall. Might not be as well off or glamorous as the neighbors, which is why the country is overlooked so often

Of course I'm not saying there aren't right wing/racists in Portugal (they exist everywhere on earth), but just saying in comparison to most places outside of Cali and NYC, definitely much better off.

Even though I can blend in as a local in Spain and Italy, I always have an uncomfortable feeling as someone who's also a minority. In a lot of places I'm always thinking "Damn, the only reason I haven't faced any discrimination yet is because I look like a generic beige southern European" while my 100% Asian friends have gotten all sorts of comments/abuse/strange looks while visiting and living in those countries. They always mention how they never get those dirty looks and unpleasant behavior while visiting Lisboa, Porto, etc.

Not buying the Jesus rumor at all

I haven't really been tracking him. If that's the case I can still get down with the Carvajal/Odri on the right, Mendy and Hakimi on the left.
i'd take hakimi and mendy any day of the week
yall still want carvajal going forward?

and do yall want eriksen? Verde Shuttles Verde Shuttles
i don't see why. he's a lesser toni kroos imo
worse defensively

Odriozola looked great last match. I’m fine with those 2 competing for the starting spot. Gotta save what we can for promising prospects, galacticos, and positions of greater need.

As for Eriksen I’m not a fan but we keep getting injured. If we can get him for cheap since he’s on an expiring, and he won’t sulk if his form gets him behind others in the pecking order, then it seems like it could turn out being an ok move. I think it should also hinge on how Valverde and James are both playing too though. If Valverde keeps showing what he did last match then he’s going to need playing time to keep developing.

Bringing in Eriksen doesn't makes sense for long term or really short term, you got James & Isco although he does look iffy, long term you got Ceballos & Ødegaard coming back, and there's still a good chance we go after VDB again.

If it's not somebody that can help in defensive midfield I'm not here for it.

I am all for Erikson at RM if Modric leaves. Def need midfield rotational players at this point. Valverde is still developing and Isco has been a shell of his best self recently. I like what James has been doing...but apparently Zidane doesn't
I would hope Erikson could spell Kroos as well. He has looked really good the past few games but i worry about burn out for him.

But agreed that defensive depth should be more of a priority (Defense and Defensive Midfield help)...but that doesn't make me dislike a move for Erikson given all of the moving pieces

Arsenal haven't looked good in the league all season and Emery STILL can't get the structure right. BUT, we're 3rd in the table and still have the likes of Hector, Tierney, Holding, and Laca working their way back from injury.

We haven't played our best football in the league yet, and we're still 3rd with a point behind City and 9 behind Pool. That looks promising only if Emery doesn't get in his own way.

Pool look strong but it's gonna be up to City and the rest of the top 6 to pull them back into the fold by taking points off em home and away. The best way to beat this Pool team is to play football and take the game to em. Sitting back won't do anything.

His persistence of keeping xhaka in the 11 and refusing to play torreira and Chambers in their natural positions have been worrying and frustrating

You dare speak ill of captain Xhaka?
I swear, with the right midfield around him, he can shine. He has world class long range passing but he needs a world class DM to offset his defensive weaknesses. I backed him for a minute but his lack of awareness and positioning is just too costly for him to work in our midfield.

Only torreira should be sitting in front of our back four who can actually break up play and let his peers focus on moving the ball forward

No fam I’m sorry but he sucks no matter who is around him.
Y’all should’ve moved on a long time ago.

Thomas partey is available for 50

Does Partey play DM?

i slowly have had to accept that, i really wanted him to do well here but his mental mistakes outweigh anything positive he does on the pitch. I think he'll eventually end up in Serie A or back in the bundesliga.

boy, i would love Partey in an Arsenal shirt, he's my favorite Atleti player and he would walk into any team but i doubt he would want to come here. He's an important piece in a much better club with a world class defense behind him and he'd come to a shambolic back line that's still working to make itself at the very least competent. I am confident The Arsenal will get champions league football again this year but from partey's pov, its not guaranteed

I wouldn't say Xhaka sucks...but Arsenal have more talent on that roster that he should rarely see the field :lol

In a 3 man midfield you have Ceballos, Ozil, Torrera, Guenduezi all should be favored over Xhaka

Yeah. He can be a dm or a box to box mf
Spurs could use an actual DM. I've only watched a limited amount of Atletico's matches but he was excellent in the ones I saw. He was playing more of a box to box role there but did well in the defense too.

We never really replaced Mousa Dembélé and our league form went completely downhill after that January transfer window ended. Wanyama is awful now and Dier regressed last season and barely played.
Winks sort of takes on the DM role but he's not particularly special at it.

From what I've seen from Partey, he's very versatile and excells in multiple aspects.

We need a good RB too.

Partey and ndombele would be a great dm pairing
