Part of why I'm dropping that slander is they love to puff their chest and rip on La Liga being a 2-horse league, but neither league is perfect in its title races.
EPL would hands down be the best if the top 4-6 showed balls and skills for an entire season, but it often plays out that only 1 or at most 2 teams actually do.
Still makes for damn good soap opera type entertainment though

I don't think it's really meant as an attack. In terms of the skill level, it's clear that the Premier League is not even close to the mainland European counterparts like La Liga at the moment.
My domestic club KAA Gent I support knocked out Spurs in the Europe while they were performing great in the premier league.
But I don't think that's really an insult to the premier league. It's still by far the most exciting league to watch imo. Because so many clubs are at a relatively equal level, that makes the league far more competitive and enjoyable to watch.
