World Cup is right around the corner people

Going to be in Vegas for it repping England

Reality aside, my personal subjective beef with this would be that I HATE viewing football being played indoors on carpet.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium, BC Place, friendlies at AT&T.

That trade off ain’t even worth it to me.
Arizona has grass I believe

Wouldn't heated pitches help at least make it better to play in?

That’s because the cost of land in Arizona is probably about $30 a square foot and you can afford to double your stadium footprint in order to grow grass outside, then move it inside on game day.

Good luck with that Boston!

Main function of heated pitches is to thaw ground that would have remained frozen even when outside temperatures creep above freezing.

It might keep a pitch unfrozen in frozen temperatures, but that still won’t help players bodies.

plus imagine trying to grow and maintain grass outdoors on the East Coast during the winters :lol :lol

Just because you can make it work doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to implement.

What are your ideas?

I don’t think think the good solutions are quite as abundant or as simple as you make it seem.

Bro. I just want a promotion and relegation system in the US. I don't understand why the MLS or whoever is in charge of that is so against it.

Me too man, they’re against it because they’re an open ecosystem invites outside competition and threatens their concentrated power.

Pro/rel for me is far more important than a August - May calendar and should be the #1 priority.

Traditional European calendar also throws us out of wack with the rest of the Western Hemisphere.

Random, but how are your public soccer fields were you guys live? I'm in VA and my county is pretty good about it. We have a bunch around. As long as no one has a permit to to be on it you can use it. There's still more basketball and tennis courts around though. Slowly their adding more pitches. All artificial of course .

Heard people from out of state say that they don't really have public fields and that you have to go to like a soccer place to pay and play.

We have no public fields.

Cali? Damn that's crazy

Big place. There are fields every just a couple of zip codes over.

Inner city though? Nothing really in the Bay.

Did stumble upon a new small sided field in the San Francisco’s Mission district recently though. Was cool to see but the only one I know of in that city.

I can't think of many public fields here in Cali (have lived in both NorCal and SoCal). The only ones I can think of are some rundown fields where the grass is so unkempt and the ground is so uneven, you might as well be running on cement in your boots. Last time I played, I had shin splints for an entire week. Should've just played in indoor shoes instead of firm ground ones

we got pitches everywhere and they're well kept too

jealous of the city next to us though, last year they opened up a sports complex that has 24 pitches

I agree 100% that having a Pro/Rel system is the main priority.

As far as public fields. In LA they have a few nice fields in the new Playa Vista developments. I've played their a few times. Artificial fields, but it's nice to have. I also heard they have some fields in Torrance. If anyone ever wants to go kick the ball around let me know.

When I was living up in Berkeley my friend and I used to go play on that field by the marina also. It was pretty nice. They have a huge natural grass field that we played on, but I don't think the artificial fields are public.

Black Lotus Black Lotus where you stay at? That looks hella nice.

I suppose mine isn't all that bad considering I live in a small town with a population of ~2000 people. The only problem is it's not maintained well and the area between the penalty spot and the goal line is far more dirt than grass at this point. But at least we have a soccer field, better than nothing. There's also big barriers placed behind the goals to prevent the ball from going far out of the pitch. They're pretty high and wide so you'd literally have to shoot it straight up in the sky to send it flying over the barriers.
The nearby city with a population of around 20000 people has 4 soccer fields that are maintained well, however they don't have those barriers. Sometimes that results in balls flying into a ditch.

2 of our neighboring small rural towns also have soccer fields. One of those towns also hosts an annual U13 youth tournament. Vincent Kompany used to be there to watch on some occasions when he was playing for Anderlecht. Kompany himself has participated in that tournament when he was younger.
Some other known players who have participated there in the past include:
Dries Mertens
Kevin De Bruyne
Batshuayi
Memphis Depay
Courtois

I didn't really care for soccer back then but it's pretty cool that such a small town in the middle of nowhere has been having such a successful tournament for the youth all these years.

Heads up to anyone with little ones getting into the game. Here's a short book with a pretty good approach to introducing little ones (2-6yrs old) to soccer. The author definitely beats his idea on the importance of kids learning ball manipulation and technical practice early on, but overall I enjoyed and appreciated the book.

When I peeped that pic I was like daaaaaaaamn! I got me 2 Tag aqua racers but could never justify getting a Roley or Omega... The wifey would kill me.

Congrats though. I wish you nothing but success!

Tag Heuers are great watches man, if you really want a Rolex or Omega treat yourself though!

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Same to you!

:pimp:

When you get to Harvey Spectre level you gotta cop the Daytona too :pimp:

Never been a big fan of the Daytona. Hype drives their prices up and I could never see myself spending what they cost.
