Forget the World Cup which ends in two weeks.
Just pick based on the current most exciting leagues/teams/players in the game period.
Manchester City or FC Barcelona.
I can't recommend Real Madrid in good faith. Liverpool actually deserves a shout too in the immediate short term.
Don't pick Bayern or PSG.
Just because you "pick" Everton or any of the teams above don't make you a fan of the club.
Watch the game, enjoy the game, if it's meant to be, overtime you'll find a team you can claim as a fan or you'll just love the game. You can't loose.

can be...if you're just trying to check out games though, just watch the 10am or later games. once you gravitate to a team, could be 7am kickoff some weekends on the east coast, though
