Our back line was rather solid and composed considering all things. Chambers and Mavropanos made a solid CB pairing. A nice debut from the Greek. Niles was good too. Looking forward to seeing more in midfield. I think he'll only get better. Nice seeing Nelson get a start, he had some bright moments.

Barca should've provided the courtesy of a pasillo for the club world cup regardless of what one thinks of the trophy. It was the right thing to do so the pettiness started with Barca. But this has more to do with Catalan independence more than anything. A lot of Los Blancos upper echelon members (& board members) are Franco Madridistas who are hell bent on crushing the thought of an independent Catalan state.
The win yesterday was sad. Even though they were relegated, hats off to Seedorf who did an amazing job in a very short amount of time at Depo. They dictated tempo through out most of the game. The reoccurring theme with Barca all campaign is that it relied on Messi magic to save the club for an ultra dull performance & another tie.
The poor midfield & back 4 play probably resulted in ter Stegen not winning the Ricardo Zamora Trophy. Those goals Depo scored had nothing to do with ter Stegen playing badly.
I'm glad Don Iniesta will be going out with a double. This is a pivotal moment for the club. It's a vital summer transfer window & I'm afraid they're not up to task. This team needs speed on the flanks & in the midfield. Dracula needs to find a clear identity for the team style wise too. This team was only undefeated because there was so much uneven play from the top Liga teams all campaign especially from Los Blancos.
Its important to note that Barca didn't go undefeated because of stellar play, it's because the teams in liga were so uneven this campaign more than I can ever remember. The count didn't display any tactical accumen & he mostly played the same guys over & over again. He often didn't make substitutions until the 80th min mark in most games even when Barca were getting manhandled. The only bright spot & constant that helped this team go undefeated so far is Messi.

no matter how uneven you say the teams were it's still an almost impossible task to go undefeated this far. we didn't just go 39 games unbeaten because of other teams. you still have to do it and no one else has done what we've done before.
again, you fail to give the squad any credit like a spoiled cule. a double and an undefeated season deserves credit no matter what even though our play isn't as good as previous years. at the top level to do what this team has done is a tremendous accomplishment. 20 teams in la liga didn't just bend over for us.

Regardless of the state of the league,going undefeated in a season will always be remarkably impressive. Valverde deserves some credit/respek
